Guild initially did an X500T Paladin which was a stock X500 with a Bigsby and P90's. They later (early 2000's in Corona, CA) did an X550P which was the Dave Gonzales signature model with more accurate body shape. Here's mine:

Jeff that is Beautiful! Is it the 25.5" scale length? If it is and you ever decide to get rid of it I would like to buy it from you. I don't care what I would have to sell to buy it, I'll figure that out later. :single_eye: I even have a NOS Gold Guildsby for her still sitting in the plastic.

t57 - It is a 25.5" scale and the gold Guildsby is already on it. I don't ever plan to sell it though - it took too long to find it. There were hardly any made.

I completely understand, I wish they would have made more. Maybe I will be lucky enough to find one one day. I knew it already had a gold Guildsby on it, I was anticipating wearing out the original. LOL :encouragement:

You are right, I had another couple of typos in my original post (now corrected).
The 2000 catalog and the January 2001 (Westerly) pricelist show a X-500 Paladin (with humbuckers) and a X-500T Paladin (with SD P-90s and gold Guildsby).
They write about the X-500: "...we have christend our new X-500 the "Paladin", in honor of...Dave Gonzales...,...and the new X-500 and X-500T were developed in collaboration with Dave."
The 2003 catalog shows a X-500 Paladin only.
The January 2005 price list shows no X-500 or X-500P but the X-550P (as you already mentioned) which had two SD P-90s and Bigsby. Mind the price list spelling in 2005 is wrong as "Pallidan"!

Sounds like they had time of musical chairs model names! Lots of companies have done stuff like that. It is no biggie for those that are just getting into a brand, but for those that have been following for a bit, those waters get way muddy.

Ibanez and their 58 pickups just got odd. They had, of course, the Super 58's from the MIJ only days. Then later came the Custom 58's which often noted as Super 58's even on the website! Then they went with Super 58 Customs again often just referring to them as Super 58's. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
