Experimenting with the upload capability. I looked at Google Drive, picked a representative picture, downloaded it and then uploaded it. It has the expected orientation on my disk and on Google Drive so I don't know how it got twisted.

Welcome, BTW and sharing photos housed with Google is not easy.

Welcome aboard, Scott!
That's a typical shape 'guard used on flamenco guitars. I don't believe Guild would have installed that shape themselves even if a clear 'guard option was offered but they were very flexible about accepting special orders and one would think a "pickguard delete" would have been very easy to accommodate.
Also Guild typically finished over the pickguards of NCL finished guitars so removal to replace isn't easy.
If that guard isn't finished over I'm betting 99% probability it's not original.
As Geoguy mentioned about maple/rosewood, yes the original D60's were rosewood like yours, then dropped for a couple of years and "re-issued" as maple archbacks.

Hi adorshki - thank you for that very helpful information! It is definitely not finished over so, as you say, I guess it probably did not come out of the factory that way.

I put the guitar on the For Sale part of LTG.

Cheers - Scott
