Here is my custom shop rosewood dread. A whole lot of horsepower, vibrates my ribs. Only rosewood guitar I own. I’ve mentioned before I’m partial to maple/mahogany. I tried a D55 and F50R last year, just couldn’t get use to them. Brad Little got my nice 94’ D44 and Richard P got the crazy unplayed 1979 F50R. This Washburn was my holy grail for many years, though I’m parting ways with the guitars I just don’t play. I’m listing this one on Reverb shortly. I’ll still have plenty of nice guitars I play regularly every week.
Washburns premier luthier John Stover made this entire series run over 7 years. D80SW flamed maple, D82SW rosewood, and a D84SW Koa. 400 total of the series. Previous Custom Shop series was in the mid 90’s were built by Dana Bourgeois, D96SW Paramount, retail $8,000. I’ve seen pictures of some in the Washburn forum, but never one for sale.
My favorite little thing about this D82SW is how he rounded the edge of the sound hole, it’s beautiful up close.
