I think he means the Hercules neck stand, Chris. Or, that might just be me projecting...
You mean, he doesn't have any scissors?!?I think he means the Hercules neck stand, Chris. Or, that might just be me projecting...
I really throw myself into my work.
See, I was projecting.I was talking about the clamp. I have the exact same one.
Frustrating I’m sure, but an example of why it’s worth buying from someone like you who makes hand-crafted instruments. A guy on the line of a big manufacturer would have picked it up and handed it off to the next stage in order to not mess up his quota.I'd hoped to have it all strung up and settling in this weekend (and to learn a quick demo tune on it.) Fate, and some clumsiness, had other plans. While taking the tailpiece off to microcrystalline the top, it managed to slip out of my hands and ding the top finish in a few spots. Not anything in the wood, just the finish.
Which means I've sanded down in the area, but not to bare wood, and am having to redo some of the French polish. That's one of its benefits, it's easy to repair, the shellac blends into the existing shellac. It just takes time going back through some steps.
Sigh.
