The Taylor Swift attention didn't/doesn't bother me. Only negative I have is her guitars are not Guilds or AcornHouse.
It doesn’t really bother me either, except the fact that she has complained about all the attention…and that all she has to do is sit three rows back in the player’s family box and the cameras can’t see her. She wants the attention, as does Kelce. 2000 rich and famous people attend the SB every year, many w/ private VIP entrance to the stadium. You never see loading dock tunnel footage of other stars entering, only her. I wonder why? (Her publicist/PR mgr surely knows! )The Taylor Swift attention didn't/doesn't bother me. I have absolutely no dog in this hunt, MT, but I think Taylor Swift is perhaps the most famous person in her age group in the world right now. And, again, I couldn't care less, but I really think her presence at the Super Bowl caused lots of people to tune in and pay attention to the press coverage after the fact that otherwise would definitely not have.Overall, I doubt having her there is doing anything for spawning new NFL fans. T
Well, pretty much every time she shows up on the radio I'm already reaching for the dial... Not a fan of her music.I don't own any of her music, but what's not to love?
Oh no doubt. She is massive. But not unlike teenage girls during Beatlemania, most of her fans tuned in just for her camera time. Same as her young fans that watch the Grammy’s. Her 10 sec spots on camera is all they care about, and the NFL game itself is the equivalent to the Grammy’s award for best adult contemporary jazz award.I have absolutely no dog in this hunt, MT, but I think Taylor Swift is perhaps the most famous person in her age group in the world right now. Not saying all will outgrow it. But most will. We are a minority of instrument playing music lovers. The general population however are mostly made up of trend following sheep when it comes to popular music. 10-15 years ago, Fergie and the Blackeyed Peas were the biggest thing around. Haven’t heard a peep about them in years. Overall, artists are lucky if even 1 out of 100 of their biggest fans during their peak popularity still remain big fans 20-30 years later. Right now Taylor has the masses in the palm of her hand. When the next big star emerges and is all the talk in the hallways of schools, her staying power will also dwindle.Just like the NFL, I guess I'll join the Taylor Swift veer. Why would her fans outgrow her music? I have numerous Swift fans in my college classes. She's 34, she keeps releasing new music, and her fans will undoubteldy grow with her. I haven't outgrown the Beatles or Led Zeppelin yet...

As for Zep, the overwhelming majority of their current hardcore fan base are of the age that were too young to ever see them live. Mostly the ones that “just missed them”. The millions that saw them multiple times during their heyday have mostly moved on w/ a very low % of stragglers still hanging on. That’s just the way the world’s flock of sheep is when it comes to music. Only real timeless music has staying power. That’s likely representative of maybe 1 to 2% of popular music, if even that much. For every Zep/Beatles/Stones, there were 500 other popular bands in their day that few, if any kids today give a #%^# about. I just don’t see Taylor’s music (which I’ve been forced to listen to a lot of by my niece) having that kind of staying power. Right now, she’s selling out stadiums because kids parents are caving in to crying conniptions based on peer pressure at school/social media. It would all be different if they actually had to stand in line for 3 days for first come first served tix like we all had to. My brother caved big time and got up close aftermarket seats for $450 a pop…then drove his daughter from Charlotte to Atlanta to see Taylor. It was the greatest thing to ever happen to her. . (Oh the humanity!!)
Reminds me of a former buddy of mine who worked that scheme. He and a friend would spend the night, be first in line, each buy the six tickets allowable, get the first 10 rows, then sell them to the aftermarket agencies. They'd essentially turn a couple hundred bucks into several thousand. It would all be different if they actually had to stand in line for 3 days for first come first served tix like we all had to. They wouldn't change their name to "Swift Guitars". Not even "Taylor's Guitars".Oh, and yes, it's too bad she isn't sporting a Guild. I just wonder what happened to her with Taylor Guiltars. She was a huge draw to them for the younger crowd a few years ago...
Maybe Yamaha will find a way to get her on board with Guild someday. That would be a coup. Ain't no way that could've happened in the past. Just sayin'
My rabbit ears are not strong enough to get CBS.
Thank!
