Please forgive me if this archived somewhere. I'm looking a Corona made Bluesbird at the devil/Guitar Center. It has White uncovered pups on it. I don't think this is stock.... any info to help work down the price is appreciated.

Cheers, Jeff

I can't see the detail on my phone, but if the stock p'ups were the same Duncans as the reissue S-100's they should be black coils. Those might have been swapped. It isn't given away by the number of adjustment screws either because the Duncans had a metal plate to adapt them to three screws instead of two. That piece could have been swapped as well. But like I said I can't tell on my phone. I probably shouldn't even venture a guess right now! ;)

Have them pull the p'ups and then you'll know for sure.

Yeah that's the one. I have seen one other with naked pups and they were zebra so I'm not sure here. I disliked the pups on this particular one. It might be the guitar tho. I didn't feel the resonance of the top coming though the amp. It's also difficult to hear in those places with all of the wankers on the Line 6/digital amp crap everywhere. I wanted to break some fingers yesterday.

My eyes aren't so great and I can't tell from the picture, but, that looks very much like a guitar I recently sold. Here is a picture for those who can better compare. If it was mine you will be able to tell quickly without pulling the pickups. It will have a Tonepros bridge and PIO caps installed Les Paul style between the volume and tone controls. Again if it was mine, the pickups are non-original. Mine were custom wound by a guy named Jon Moore. I liked the guitar a lot and if you determine that they are the same let me know and I'll give you all the specs I remember on the pickups.

I got them to come down a bit. Considering the prices I have seen on Ebay... I think I got a great deal.

More pics when I get home tonight :)

1998? It is not on the lists.

Jeff

I bet that's a Corona serial number...2002-3 maybe?

Thanks guys. I took it through the paces at rehearsal tonight. Sounds and plays great. A lot brighter and defined than my S-100. These two guitars really compliment each other. It is a Corona guitar with a painful reminder of the parent company by placing a Fender logo on the back of the headstock.

I took the Pups out and wow...... umm I wish I took a pic. Bubba replaced the stock pups with Seymour Duncan JNJ and JBJ pups??????? He used wood shims to make a 2 hole bracket on the bass side of the ring. I returned it to Guitar Center after I found that. I don't like to return guitars, but it didn't look like anything that would hold up if that wood cracked and the pups would be flopping around on stage in the middle of a performance.....

Bummed.
