I always had an issue with my D50 being a bit muddy in the bass end. I spoke with a fantastic tech at D’Addario and he graciously sent me a few sets to try…been using elixirs forever (nano lights)
Now using EJ18…heavy pbs. And a single 42 replacement. Here is the set up:
Elixirs. 12 16 24 32 42 53
EJ18. 14 18 27 39 49 59
On the guitar now 14 18 27 39 42 49
It has never sounded more balanced and clear. No tin, no mud.
Just sayin. Your results may vary.
