How many deals do they have each day ... when I checked this morning it was some kind of backpack. Waiting for a nice deal on a hercules stand or acoustic amp.

The URL is static for the Stupid Deal of the Day, and generally they only have one deal. Sometimes if they run out of the first one, they will add something different, and I think that's what happened today.

Wow. If you ever wanted to try a Newark Street M-75 without much expense this would be the time.

And if the price isn't enough to make you leap, there's also free shipping.

Yes, I would have bought this, at that deal, but I have recently acquired the NS X175 with those pickups and the SF4 with hums. Otherwise... hello stupid deal of the day !

Oh, the things I would be willing to do for some disposable income... this guitar and kitty's GV52 would be mine, all MINE!

Ummm what does this do to the resale price of those who bought at the full boat price?

IMHO. It doesn't do anything to resale prices cause if you find a $20 bill lying on the street, it's still worth $20. You were just lucky enough to find it. :blushed:

I agree with Griehund. Also, in 2 or 3 weeks everyone will have forgotten all about the great special price that was offered. Now, if it was a Manufacturers permanent price reduction, that would be a different animal in my opinion.

So, did anyone pick one up?

I wish for Guild's sake that these sold well, but if it's being offered for Stupid Deal of the Day, chances are Musician's Friend is trying to clear out bloated stock.

I really wish I had the disposable income to pick up one of these, if for nothing else than to support the Guild brand.

These regularly sell for $750 - $800 used. I want one. I really want a '59 Hoboken Aristocrat, but never mind that. If I found a used NS Aristocrat for ~$500 there's a chance I'd pull the trigger. I'm kinda glad I didn't see the new ones for $600 until after the sale was over. Saved me $600.

An aside: Goldtops are not my thing, but I think it's the only color that doesn't come with gold hardware. I have little tolerance for gold plated hardware.

I bought one just unpacked it and tuned it up. Remarkable guitar for the $. Workmanship seems top notch. Pots have a nice feel to them and work well. guitar itself has a pretty unique tone. Was just about ready to pack it up and send it back because the bridge was moving. This dummy didn't realize it was a pinned bridge, first one I have owned. I think the STOD was for the color, would not have been my first choice but it is a very well done goldtop. I had played one a Rudy's a couple years ago and thought it was a sweet guitar for a little over a grand. At $599 I couldn't resist and the case is very nice and was included! I think it's a keeper!!
