didn't realize it was a pinned bridge, first one I have owned.
Welcome to LTG! Yes, the original 50ies Aristocrat M-75 had a floating style archtop bridge and the two bottom metal caps were just sitting loose on the top. So you had to be careful to intonate the guitar after a string change.

Don't get confused, the guy who made the below video is basically right in the way to intonate such a guitar but he didn't notice that he installed the whole bridge 180 deg wrong! So funny to see! I wonder how he was able to intonate the guitar that way!

It's easier to simply change one string at a time so that the bridge doesn't move and reintonating the guitar is not necessary.

Arniez, these are very good guitars. I sold my NS because I got the AP version. I had both for a short time and can honestly say after playing the two side-by-side that I appreciated the NS Aristocrat even more than I did before my comparison. At what you paid, and even at full price that is a fantastic guitar. Enjoy that beauty!

Thanks for the welcome, actually been a member for a while but rarely ,if ever, post. Was at the last? Guild event in New Hartford, kind of a walkover from Hamer. My M75 could definitely benefit from a setup, the action is a litlle high for me. The nut appears to be properly cut and the neck is straight, tuna all the way down so not sure if If it can get lower. Will probably have a tech look at it.
