Hey everyone, very excited to let the forum in on my newest acquisition, 1955 X-50. It was on reverb and it was also posted in the online offerings section. I have been looking for one of these pre '56 X-50's for a while. One that is in good shape and the right price but mostly because I wanted one with a 25.5" scale length. When the seller told me the neck dimensions, 25.5" scale, 1 5/8" nut width and 7.25" fretboard radius, I had to jump on it. It came with 11s on it that I upsized to 12s and I love it. Very comfortable and very easy and fast to play. It has a great acoustic sound which is important to me because I mostly play acoustic and seldom plug in. The few times I have plugged in I was very impressed. I played an x-375 once and loved the Franz pickups and have wanted a Guild with a Franz' pickup for a while. The clear knobs on these old Guilds are so cool, the combo of those with the white pickup cover is my favorite version of this guitar. I'm gonna try to get a video up here playing it soon to show it off but for now here's some pictures.
P.S. I'm using images I downloaded to flickr so hopefully it works, if not I'll send the attachments.
