In all my years of being on this forum I never even noticed this section was here until this morning when I saw it mentioned in one of our LTG members post. So, my apologies for showing my illegal alien buys of Martin, Gibsons etc. in the miscellaneous section in prior posts.

This one just showed up yesterday and it is really sweet. It's a 2015 Martin Custom Shop, slope shouldered, twelve fret, slotted headstock dreadnaught. Solid Spruce (Sitka I think) top and back and sides made of Goncalo Alves or commonly called Tiger Wood.

This is a super sweet guitar and I think will become one of my favorites. here's a few pics.

Very nice Richard. Martin does a fantastic job re slope shoulder dreads. I think they were the original to do it too. I hear 12 fretters are boomier as well. Congrats!

Congrats! That is gorgeous and such cool choices for a custom guitar. What's the neck like?

That's a great one! Martin really knows how to make 12-fret dreads.

I've played a few 12 fret Dreads that sounded like a grand piano. Huge beautiful sound. And fingerstyle can be especially sweet.
Real nice and the slot head really completes the look.

Apologies accepted. It wasn't really a problem because this Moderator's meds are up to date :)

And we can joke about illegal alien buys but I am a firm believer that you don't know just how good Guilds are if you don't understand the competition and you don't know how Guilds can be improved without studying the competition.

I believe that Guilds are great but will never sound like a Martin or a Gibson. The well rounded collection obviously needs all three!

Beautiful new addition Richard. Play it in good health,
