As a lover of first-gen RX-7's and experiencing the thrill of my first ownership, imagine my delight to discover Norton built rotary engine bikes, way back in '91.

Their rotary engined models were fairly popular, but cost too much to make to allow the company to make a profit. If I remember correctly, they had to send all their rotors to Mazda in Japan for a stage in the process.

I did not know that, but suspect it was for graphite-impregnated rotor apex seals. That's how Mazda finally cured the longevity problem.
