I spent some time last night with my 2022 F40 Traditional. I got it in late 2022 from Tundra Music and was frankly disappointed initially--it seemed tight, quiet, and generally unresponsive. I thought about trying to send it back, but the price was low and the hassle of international shipment was daunting and so I decided to keep it and see if it would open up. I'm glad I did. The guitar now has a sweet, precise tone and is louder (though no "cannon"). The bass, so disappointingly absent at first, has rounded out nicely--it's not boomy at all but has enough presence to remind you that it's coming from a large-bodied guitar. I don't think this will ever be among my favorites, but I like it well enough that I'm contemplating putting in a pickup so that I can use it as an alternative to my D50 Standard, my usual open mic guitar.
