Awesome find Aristera! Looks like the F612, F512, F412, and the Mark VII all have Asterisk marks next to their prices for special order only. $1000 was a lot of money in 1972.

Ah, the F-612. The stuff of legends. I'll never own one, but I would love to get a chance to play one....

Don't say Never Strang! I never thought I would have the opportunity to own one either. Stranger things have happened.

I appreciate that but between the finances and the arthritis...

We might ask "why weren't more of these sold"? But I do recollect that Led Zeppelin, etc were all the rave that year. For that matter many folks probably didn't even realize that occasionally an acoustic guitar was used even in the heavy rock genre.

Today one can only imagine when and where the next F612 might show up from.

As does the D-55 on the other page. (kind of hard to see here but I have a flat scan).
Ralf
Oh that's interesting 'cause I looked for that, but couldn't see it, so thought they must have moved it to regular production by then.
Now that I think bout it, isn't '72 the year it became a regular production model?
I'm thinking maybe that price list was printed before the decision was made.

No, the D-55 became a regular production model during 1974. All that info you can find on page 178 and 179 of "The Guild Guitar Book'.
