I have a pair of "single coil" pickups with the black plastic cover and Guild cursive markings and they are also Dimarzio pickups. However although they look like single coils with the black covers they ar actually a "stacked" bobbin humbuckers.

I have an 85 with the same covers but I thought they were Kent Armstrongs so I got to pull them outIf they are still the original pickups under that cover, they should be DiMarzios!

The Kents are epoxy potted, with exposed solder lugs protruding through it on the bottom.I have an 85 with the same covers but I thought they were Kent Armstrongs so I got to pull them out
I’m worried about pulling them out first of I’ve never done it and my pick up rings are broken but still on . I don’t want to break them more than they already areThe Kents are epoxy potted, with exposed solder lugs protruding through it on the bottom.
If they say Guild on them I’m pretty sure they’re not Kent Armstrongs.I have an 85 with the same covers but I thought they were Kent Armstrongs so I got to pull them out

That would make sense. The Armstrongs have the three point mount epoxy potted, whereas the EMGs, Duncans and presumably DiMarzios do not, and use the same adapter.
I have one of those pickups that I got somewhere. Any idea what guitar(s) they came in?

As they're OEM, they could be anything. However, their top sellers at the time were the Super Distortion (and Dual-Sound, 4-conductor version), the PAF, and the Super II running a distant third, and the X2N an even more distant fourth. I suspect it's some variation of the three, and a casual inspection and ohm reading should give you a pretty good idea.If they are DiMarzio’s what type are they?
Thanks man, but are they possibly white ones?? Because that’s killer , I always thought they were Kent’s because they aren’t that loud but maybe I need to raise themAs they're OEM, they could be anything.
