If they are still the original pickups under that cover, they should be DiMarzios!

The rings that you saw on my website are not for Kent Armstrong pickups; they are for Guild HB-1s.

For "show and tell"... Here's a pair that I bought from someone who said they took them out of an X-80. Both identified as DiMarzio on the back.

I measured the neck pickup at 8.6 ohm and the bridge at 14.6 ohm.

Nice! U wouldn’t happen to want to sell the pick up rings?

You obviously did not get what I was saying in my earlier message. The rings that came with tonepoet's pickups were originally made for HB-1 pickups and were also used for the DiMarzio equipped guitars. They will not work with your Kent Armstrong pickups!

I was asking tonepoet Hans , and I did understand , these I thought would fit since they are off a nightbird I’m not a expert in rare guitars ! Didn’t mean to offend anyone but u did not tell me anything except about your rings that I asked about. Anytime I see rings that have two screws on one side I ask because I want to get my guitar as nice as I can make it so I can sell it. Sorry for the inconvenience

Johnny, if you look at the spacing between the two screws, you'll see that there are two different spacings. The wider spacing is for Guild, DiMarzios, EMG's, Duncans - any of the standard-sized humbucker pickups that Guild used other than the Kent Armstrongs, that had the attached adapter to convert it to three screw mounting.

The Kent Armstrongs had a different, narrower spacing, because KA encased his in epoxy, and as such, the spacing was fixed at his factory, and Guild had to make a different mounting ring for his pickups.

Not sure, but it looks to me that the Kent Armstrong pickups might fit the pickup rings for the Fender made HB1s. That's just a guess though. Spacing between the two screws at the top is a 1/2" (12.7mm) on the Fender HB1, compared to 3/4"(19.05mm) on the earlier Guild HB1. Pretty sure that all DiMarzio and Seymour Duncan humbuckers back then were made to fit the original Guild HB1rings

Nothing was made to fit the original Guild HB1 rings that I'm aware of except for the Guild pickups or pickups made for Guild (Like XR7s). Dimarzios had an adapter used to let them use the additional adjustment screw holes, but the pickups are noticeably smaller than the Guild rings.

Duncans and EMGs definitely used the same crossbar adapter as shown on the DiMarzios in post #27. On the bottom photo, you can see an original spring, which is short, cylindrical and whitish, and probably caked with rubbing compound.

I should have made it clear that I was referring specifically to the pickups that were factory fitted by Guild. Really only knew about them from your blog articles 😁
