I had an interesting conversation this morning and thought I'd post a thread on the subject... One of our users was offered about $5K (in modern $) back in the 1980s for a G-37 that he didn't sell. Now, that's loyalty! Looking at your collection today, which Guild(s) wouldn't you part with if someone would give you $5K today.
I've had around 30 acoustics over the years. There are only really two that have been with me all along, and those are guitars that have sentimental value so I'm not including them in this because no one would offer $5K for them. However, honestly, for me, there is only one Guild that I wouldn't take $5K for -- my 2006 F-512. Arguably this is sentimental too because it was the first Guild I ever bought, back in 2007. But, it's also my favorite guitar and I'd never let it go, even at a ridculous $5K. All the rest, I'd be willing to part with.
I consider myself a pretty avid Guild lover, but I've never treated my guitars as investments or part of a (big) collection.
