A Dream

About six weeks ago I took my 1970 D-40 in for a neck reset and a couple of other repairs. I bought it in 1985; it was the first lefty guitar I bought after I started playing lefty. So it's special to me.

The repairman told me it would take a month or more before it was ready. So I waited patiently. But the night before last I had a dream that I went to pick my guitar up only to see it in pieces on the workbench. "It couldn't be salvaged," the repairman said. The dream upset me a lot, even after I woke up from it.

It bothered me so much that I called the repairman to ask when he thought it might be done. He was working on it just then and said it would be ready in a day or two.

He just called to tell me my guitar was ready.

Pheeeew! That was a close one............................ Fortunately, dreams seldom come true, at least for me:rolleyes:

I hope the reset gets your guitar where you want it to be.

Got the guitar back today. Plays and sounds like a (good) dream. Some pictures: 1) A picture of the guitar; 2) Some longitudinal cracks that happened and were re-repaired; 3) The burned spot on the back of the neck. I did that. I love to tell the story; for now, suffice it to say that I wasn't paying attention...

Are you going to get the burn spot fixed, Chad? Also, is it a reflection, or is the pickguard lifted down by the bridge?

The burned spot has been there since 1991. It's "mojo."
