Yeah Nashville tuning is raising the 4 bottom wound strings on a 6 string by an octave (E, A, D, G), and keeping the top 2 strings the same as before. It's used a lot in country, country rock, Americana, folk etc. and sounds kind of like a 12 string especially when doubling a standard tuned guitar.
