One and only Guild. 2000 DV25. It's a keeper.

I only have one Guild guitar ; I've been fond of it for a long time, then changed strings to a new Martin set of Bronze Custom light ; it didn't make the guitar sound a way I liked, and I gave up using it after some time. I went back to plugging in more regularly next, and the Guild has't got onboard electronics... So I've been using my old MIC Washburn (spruce over sapele) till electronics collapsed (B Band ran out of business, and I haven't been able to have it repaired - no replacement parts -)...Making a long story short, had to get an other good guitar, and bought a Furch (now my main and only one since I got it). I do not see the Guild as 'the one' (but I now have 2 or 3 sets of good strings...😉)

I have 4 Guild guitars; a 1972 G37, a 1978 G37, a 1997 DV6 and a 1953 X375. The '72 G37 I bought new and is by far my favorite, but these days I put more time into the other G37 and the DV6 as they both have .012 string sets and I am trying to minimize the wear on the '72 G37 (it has .010 strings on it) and due to rheumatoid arthritis I had to stop playing for some years but have been playing again the past 3 years or so with better RA treatments and I play the .012 strung guitars more to build up the fingertip callouses I lost when not playing for so long. I have also had a DCE-1 and a DV-52 over the years but have always preferred the archback of the G37.

I have only the one Guild, my 70 D 35. The others are my Martin D 35 Custom, my 65 Texan, and recent Santa Cruz D PW. It has been close to a month now since I played anything but the Santa Cruz. I did check the others, and still like them. We'll see how this all pans out. It is new territory for me.

I will reference my answer by quoting the main character in a TV show when he moved into an apartment with a previously unknown cousin in Chicago. The character's name - and maybe name of show - was Balki. Balki's catch phrase was, "Don't Be Ridiculous" with his Mediterranean accent.

I enjoyed that show. Perfect Strangers was filmed on the old MGM lot and was in the Lorimar family of shows when I worked there. David Salzman with Miller/Boyett producers. Fun show. I used to see Bronson Pinchot and Mark Linn-Baker on the lot all the time. Placed temps in the studio where it was shot.

Am I crazy or didn't you say you had a D25 also?

I've owned a half-dozen over the decades but have let go all but one, the '65 D-40 I bought off the wall in '67. Been through two neck resets and a loose back brace and has a lot of competition these days, but it remains a guitar I return to.

I am very afraid I may be nursing the start of carpel-tunnel, so I am trying the slim necks at the moment...but it may be that
the thicker neck NH F47R could wind up being the "keeper" o_O

actually found the slightly thicker neck profile of my own D40 got more comfortable over the years, If you don't hook your thumb over the fretboard, I think that extra bulk actually helps the muscles work with less stress. I notice it in particular on the higher frets. Or it could just be the peculiarities of my hands.

Also sat at a keyboard 5 days/week for twenty years. Think it helps keep the fingers loosened up.

Hard thing to talk about , ive always had my D-55 but then i bought a D-40 and they breeded
( so i had to get rid of that pesky D-40 and its offspring another D-40 ) I heard about a cute D-25 that needed a good home
-im a believer in helping out the less fortunate guitars out their ( gave her a home )- and during covid - i adopted a cute new born F-1512
so now i only have 3 .

I know many of you have many different Guild acoustics. Over the years., accumulating etc. I saw how Brick has 3 he keeps in a constant rotation. Does anyone have just the one?

My Br is the only one I play. The other is my wife’s. I don’t do well with a lot of options.

Just wondering.
I only have one and it gets used a lot although I have other guitars. Alvarez, Gibison, Epiphone, Olympic.
