Keep an eye out for the upcoming Charmed Life Casein balm sale. I've been using Charmed Life picks for a while now. More than half are blems, and frankly, I can't tell the difference. If cost has held you back, buying a blem or two can be a more cost effective way to try one.
It is my go to for both sound and feel. They are having a sale on their lovely cabernet color, a dark rich purple, but the blem sale is coming soon.

Big fan here too. I think March 9 was the latest date I heard for the blem sale.

I have several CL blems. You wouldn't know by looking at them. I guess Scott has high standards.

How do they compare to BlueChip? I'm quite fond of my TAD60 but interested in what else might be out there.

Brighter and crisper attack in my experience. I find Bluechips to sound kind of dull/muted.

I put the 1.5mm Artisan Flame Triangle in the cart. I like the dull/muted of the BlueChip, but only as a contrast to the bright/clicky of some of my other picks. If it ends up 'like' BC but a little brighter, it will be my new favorite. I'll watch for the blem sale too :)

I bought several Guild picks from a LTG member and am really pleased.

The BlueChip is my go to, the Primetone aren't too bad. The Big Stubby was my preferred bass pick for a long time but too clicky on guitar... the Guild was my Grandfather's that he always had a couple in his pocket... pretty sure it is from the 80s. I don't use it, but it lives in the same box as my BlueChip, other main ones, and a Capo.

Cool pick box! I think a Guild pick with that logo is more likely from the '70's. The photo below are from the 80's, although I have no clue when the "overlap" of years happened. Stuball's shown above with that logo are from the '90's, those are shown in a Guild catalog so at least we know that's accurate.

What's the deal with the casein picks? I've never used one.

Recently I found that I like Delrum. They're a little bit pricier bbut not too bad but they have little flex.

I'm a big fan of V Picks. Their "Farley" is a great all around pick it even likes 12 strings

I was a Blue Chip fan, but since I've had Charmed Life picks, I rarely use anything else. I like the way they come off the strings, and they bring out something special in the upper mid to highs I like. They make a mandolin sing. They also look good. Some say they aren't as durable as vespel, but I haven't had issues. It is just another thing you have to try and see if you like it.

Thank you for the tip. I have a couple of John Pearse "Fast Turtles" and like the heavier one a lot. I would like to try a Charmed life but the price has put me off.
