Damn glad the St. Bernard tracked you down, CJ.
Good to be back; was looking for old-growth Romanian Spruce trees ... only on the north side of mountains .... that had been blessed by Orthodox priests ... on nights with full moons ... wearing garlic around my neck ...

     Now that would be a limited edition guitar!!

Gosh where do y'all come up with this stuff? :D

By the way, guys, I've been looking for an excuse to go to South Shore music, which is a hike from my house, but not terrible... If someone wants me to go scout one out, I remain your faithful servant... :)

Anyone "scouted" the price of that puppy?

No idea, West. I'll bet on 5 c-notes over the standard F-40, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's more.

Gilded,

I'm not exactly what strap it is, but dklsplace or bingk can hook you up with a wonderful tooled strap. There's a thread about that someshere (check the members only section).
The pic looks just like mine, which is the one available through LTG.
You're right, mando. Exactly like mine. Gilded, contact dklsplace.

Hey, FYI, they changed the verbiage and mention Europe now rather than Russia specifically.

Maybe they're watching us at the factory?!?! You out there, Kamanites?!!! Chime in for goodness sake. What a beautiful guitar. I need to try this baby!

What's up with the pickguard having to be installed by the buyer? Is this something new guitar makers are doing that I have missed? Or is it sort of "odd"?

I think that some builders offer the pickguard uninstalled. Some people want a pure fingerstyle guitar, so they opt out of a pickguard.

Taking a page out of the Taylor notebook. With all of out bitching about the newer pickguards (which they've since backed out of), who could blame them for leaving it off? :)

Yeah, seriously though, effin has it right... it's a fingerstyle thing.

The Richie Havens D40 was delivered with the 2nd guard unmounted, although I didn't get anything indicating it should be mounted by a professional like I saw in that ad. I was just VERY VERY careful to get the alignment exactly where I wanted it.
