ok well if this didn't turn out the most boring tech post to date hahaha so .... as it turns out I'm lucky Tom and Dave put there heads together and figured out that it needed shims where there was none but was suppose to be if I'm reading the blueprints of the neck system right or should should I say reading inbetween the lines of said pics

So what I thought would out be interesting nothing more then two maple shims and some fret dressing so here are a few more pics some before hand and then some of the repair but no close up yet with the neck back on yet .

Ray, I played your guitar for a bit this afternoon... checking for buzzes, etc. (found none). It was hard to put down. I think you're gonna like it.

So you're over the hump?
Yup and on to the next one lol

Might want to nickname this guitar "Sister Kate".

I'm thick , I don't get it :)

I loved it before Dave but now I think me and her will have to move into the guest room lmao

But really thanks to you and Tom for making it right . It's not the best tone I ever heard just the best I ever owned in a OM .

I was wondering if you'd play it some . Tom also liked it and hope you guys are not just being nice . I love honesty hahaha .

I have some new pins coming which should look pretty good on her I hope .

Ray, your guitar went to a "better place" without dying to do so! Glad they have it figured out. These guys are the best. I love the photos. Good post. Keep proofreading and can't wait to hear a report on your receipt of this guitar back in your hands. Why can't these guys be on MY coast?? :encouragement:

Excellent to see/hear that this incorrectly-built beauty is sorted out. Good luck, Ray!

Nice job, Dave and Tom!!! (as always). You guys were wicked brave taking that on.

Those are awfully pretty pins, Ray! Yup, Bob Colosi has been doing this stuff a long time.

And, I think you got it, but I suspect Neal's question was more about the walruses (walri?) than the pins. :) (I have no idea, by the way, Neal)

Found it watching an episode of gold rush . There they were just minding dar own business digging in the dirt and Bam! A big O'l log looking thing well they dug it up all nice like but it looked kind'a weird so they cleaned it up and low and behold twas a walrus !

Complete and all ! dang thing was it has harder then a rock figure 'n it was just a froze up some but nah it twas all harden up like stone then someone said it was fossilized.

I thought they were gunna make tractor fuel out of it but ya know they had all kinds of folks standing around one said burn it it's a witch then some other said they got turned into a newt but gots better .

I did not understand that , clearly twas a walrus anywho someone in thar said hey we can makes acoustic guitar bridge pins and saddles and nuts and stuff out it and make a killing .

Sure sounded like a plan to me but I was just watching from the TV Ya know anyways so they went to cutting . Now I might not be the smartest truffle in hill side but it sure seem to me that something twas not right so I said ya I know talking to that dar TV set is a little weird .

Say boys I'm not trying to tell ya what's what but sure'n Im a think 'n that you want them white things sticking out it's face you gots the wrong end .

Well they gots it figured out an things got on proper after that .

So there ya go .

Now if anyone is interested Bob has a set of a more Amber color set best I say , it he no inlays
But one has a blemish on the pin head which I could not see but they are pretty otherwise .

They would great on the right color bridge.
I think there 145.00 size 1T

You know, when I first joined this here forum, folks told me that I could find one of these contemporary series guitars for around 600 bucks, since they had a bad rap for neck issues. I had played one and liked it, but the price was high. I've never found that elusive price. I think it keeps climbing each year.
