Mate that was a seriously good buy !! Looks to be in lovely condition, what year is it ?

1983 (unless Hans says otherwise), but I swear it could pass for much younger than that. Not mint by any means, but the little nicks and whatnot are pretty insignificant.

Definitely going to need some new strings. Hmm...guess I'll have to start my great acoustic string trial. I'm all settled on my electrics, but haven't tested out too many for acoustics. Couldn't even tell you what's on the DCE1 (other than that they're D'Addario).

One thing you just have to love about this forum is the vicarious enjoyment we all feel when 'one of our own' scores on a great guitar!
We are a supportive bunch, aren't we?

**Not to be confused with being athletic supporters!!

OK, who's next?

Thumbs up buddy! Looks like you snagged a good one.

Almost any Guild will be worth more that 5 Benjamins.

Yes you are, and thanks to one and all for the advice, tips, discussion, and entertainment while I looked at this one, and the G37, and the D50, the D25.....wow, I looked at a few lately, eh? (And I'm still jealous of everyone's D55's out there...) ;)

Well, as for vicarious GAS'sing, someone else is going to have to step up and take one for the team now!

I read your post of "veiled congratulations" accompanied by the distraction display of describing a "better guitar" for playing blues. Did I say "thinly veiled?"
IMO and from what I've seen/heard, bluesy has paid his dues somewhere/sometime and he need not return to the "rusty strings" and marvelous (?) sounds of Stellas and Harmonys.

*Plus, my offer will be much better!

Stay warm,
Joe

Hey, you know what Christopher Columbus said right before he discovered British Columbia, "Whatever works, eh!" :?:

*Have no idea where that came from!
