Thought I'd update y'all on the status of the new to me DV 72.

Auction was over last Thursday, 3/25. I was on the road so I had to wait until Saturday to transfer funds to pay for my new baby.

Seller wanted me to pay by e-check so his cost wouldn't be but $5. Ok, I'm good with that, but e-check takes three to five days to clear. That happened Wednesday. Of course I sent e-mail and asked if he could ship Wednesday. I figure since he's sending it Fedex, I'll have it for the weekend. Nope, sorry, can't ship until Friday.......I don't know why.

So, he calls me yesterday (Friday) 'bout six in the evening, to tell me he lost the e-mail with the address of my wifes employer. (Wanted it sent there, 'cause nobody's home during the day. So.......he says I'm going to take it Fedex in a few minutes, and you should have it early next week. "I'm gonna miss it. It's the nicest guitar I've ever had."

I'm not so sure I understand the why of waiting 'till Friday to ship, but I do know I'm getting a little antsy.

Last guitar I bought on e-bay took eight days, by parcel post, from Long Island N.Y. to this Atlanta burb. I think I could have walked it here faster. Buying from strangers is a little nerve wracking......a lot nerve wracking.

I have a guitar ordered from a luthier friend of my brothers in Valdosta, Ga. Don't know when it'll be ready, six or eight months probably, maybe in time for my sixtieth in Sept. But, I'll go down there and pick it up in person. Don't like sittin' 'round here waitin'.

Oh yeah, I forgot. Since I'll be on the road again 'till Tuesday nite, it'll be Wednesday 'fore I get to put my paws on it.......if it's here by then.

Well ya never know Rich. I work late each night, but am normally off on Fridays....so I guess I'd be a Friday shipper myself. Good luck with that one and we'll be looking forward to some pictures. Played mine a bit today for the first time in months.....you'll like it.

Yer absolutely right West,

What with micronuke ovens, e-mail, instant on TV, digital cameras and DVRs, we as a society have become so used to instant gratification, that we have come to expect it.

I suppose had my grandfather placed a mail order from Sears it would have seemed like an eternity until the product arrived......at least he had a heard of cows to milk to keep his mind occupied.

And....don't misunderstand, I'm not getting on the guy, hell he may be having some serious problems. I don't know. I do know that would be the only reason I would sell this guitar.

Let's just say that I've always been a little impulsive, and a lotta impatient.

It's very easy to be impatient when it comes to waiting for one of these guitars....especially this one. Hang in there, she'll get there.
