You know, one of the things I like the most about the DV's is a subtle thing, but my gosh how warm looking it makes the guitar. It's the beige binding. The 30's series have it also. Both the JF and the D30 have beige binding. It just seems to add a very nice look. The beige looking color maple binding on the 100 series is pretty incredible too.

Wow... so of the 199 remaining DV-72's, at least three (by my count) belong to LTG members.

Are there more?

Seems these came with a COA..luckily when I bought mine, the seller still had it and sent it to me.

I was in a Dallas guitar shop about 2 years ago that had 5 DV72's in stock. One of them was inlaid in malachite instead of turquoise.....stunning. It had an "MK" at the end of the serial number. Of course, I had to write Hans to verify. That shop also had the only D130 I've ever seen.

The one thats here with me is number 28

Not sure what the one at Nashville is.

Edit: The Guild invoice lists it as being number 14, althought I'm not sure, considering they thought the model number was DV-12!

Never heard of a D-130! Pls fill me in (with pics, specs, and value if possible).

Thanks,

Well I hate to do that because I'll get something wrong, but I'll give it my best shot......Hans feel free to jump in.

I think the one I played was actually a DC130, with the carved heel. Personally, I think the model was an acoustic flop......stunningly beautiful guitar, but a flop nevertheless. The guitar is a standard dread sized body in solid maple.......including the top. It's bound in abalone, all the way around, around the soundhole and up the neck, with abalone cloud fretmarkers. I think there were around 20 built. The "flop" part is the maple top....beautiful, but maple just doesn't vibrate like spruce and it left much to be desired, though in fairness, the one I played had very old strings on it. Sticker on the one I played was $5000, but they would have come down considerably. That was a couple of years ago.

I'm kinda curious why there are different letter prefixes with the serial numbers. The one serial number posted has an " AD****** " prefix . Mine has an " LK****** " prefix.

Wasn't the LK prefix before the standardization to A_?
I thought I'd read that somewhere.
