Looking at that pic of the E string made me go remeasure more carefully. The D-string is at 0.35”, not 0.375.” Do you know if the 1968-72 bridges were generally both 1/4” tall tapered towards the back?
No, I don't. Other members might know. But Hans had mentioned before that there were some years when Guild used very low bridges.Do you know if the 1968-72 bridges were generally both 1/4” tall tapered towards the back?
Interesting that they may have used some pretty thin bridges. For Martin, 5/16” is considered thin. 0.25” is a whole other level. My concern is that it’s feel different to play than any of my other guitars. 1 The strings are pretty close to the top and 2 I like to rest my hand on the bridge at times and there is not much there to rest against. 3 If I ever do get the neck reset, can I still use this bridge to get the strings to, say, 0.40 above the top with a taller saddle (is a 0.15” saddle height over the bridge doable?). Or would that require a new bridge? And can you even find a Brazilian rosewood bridge replacement? This bridge is 6.75” long, most replacements I see (Indian rosewood) are 6”.No, I don't. Well I just ordered this one, and need some advice on some condition issues I've noticed (but don't have enough expertise on). The seller assured me there was no evidence of any repairs having been done (I asked because certain photos were blurry), and no evidence that the bridge had been...letstalkguild.com
