I would like to "Personally Commend" TODD at PORTLAND FRETWORKS for his outstanding Job on SG's Guild D-25M.
I sent him SG's first post after receiving the Guitar. Thought he might enjoy it. TODD IS WAY COOL YOU GUYS....AND HUMBLE.....HERE IS HIS REPLY:

"I'm glad he is happy and enjoying the guitar". "That's what this is all about for me."
-Todd

:D Thanks you all for taking the ride with me!
Yes Dadthrash, Todd IS very humble, and as you know, He takes great pride in his work ( as he should) . I believe that he approaches with EVERY guitar he builds or repairs, with the idea of giving it his BEST according to customers needs, wishes and requirements. I have sent him an email this morning thanking him for his excellent job. I am MORE than impressed with his restoration work here.......the guitar looks and FEELS great!...she sounds fantastic!! ...and with all the work done on her....she STILL looks like a NEW guitar!!!!.....only 33 years old!!!
It MUST feel good for him, knowing that this job has been done to the BEST possible outcome, and that EVERYONE involved is MORE than Happy with the results. That IS what its all about. Yes, there is much joy to be had all around in a job WELL DONE !
Thanks Littlesongs (good to hear from ya!).....Yes, you are lucky to be around there.....if I lived near Fretworks, or even within driving reach.....I know where I would be taking all my guitars in the future. when you find a good thing, you stick with it!
Steffan...........thanks again mate! Methinks this journey has only just begun!!!! stay tuned.
Rich, thanks...........Thats COOL! 8) Roanoak? Very nice. I lived for over a year in Tidewater Virginia...( Williamsburg, mid 80's) enjoyed your neck of the woods there. SO MUCH history!!!
Al.........Mate......I must confess , I have only been 'necking' with ONE guitar lately  . But, between you and me........'THEY' dont know she's here yet!!! They are upstairs and she is down...and I am yet to put all 3 in the same room! we must be gentle and patient in introducing another 'alpha female' into the harem!! I have love enough for 'em ALL! But i suspect THIS one will get MOST of my play time!
I am just SO GLAD she's HERE!
thanks ALL.

You got that right!
There is definitely something about these old D25..... and it's only made sweeter by their impressive affordability...
As a matter of fact I remain on the look out for an arched back (you gotta to have both right?)

If I had unlimited funds and storage space I'd say yes about the '25s specifically, but in practical terms my flatback's the D40. And there IS a signficant difference in tone in spite of the same wood recipe. D25 is definitely more bell-like.
Oh and by the way, Ben Harper? (veering to the "great players list") Maybe not one of those "absolute top tier" guys but I LOVE his slide work. Man he can make it sound like those good old psychedelic backwards tape runs. 8)

I agree.
I wish there would be more of this style in his work... I would become more of a fan!!

Yep, guys there IS something about these D-25's........The sound, quality, look and affordability , all in one package ,are hard to beat. No Wonder so many of us around here have one! Glad to say that NOW I KNOW what all the fuss was about! :D Cant blame anybody for wanting ANOTHER one of these Bluesy.....Do i see an archback in you future? Could there be a Guild 12 string in Mine? Indeed our guitar collections are merging into similiar shape.( pity I cant play them like you do!) What am i wearing today bro?....why, my blue and white silky motocross sweatsuit with a fox head of the front of course !
Ben Harper.........another excellent reccomendation there Al.......I love his early stuff, but the Relentless Seven challenges my ear a bit. I might put him on again today to give it another go.
For now, Back to the frenzied garage cleaning duties around here

Congrats, SG. Nice to see you so happy with the final product and that it got to you safely. Tallyho.

sorry....so sorry....   Steffan
That's the older sibling to my D4-12 and I recommend it highly to anyone who might be interested. It's a pretty plain/no frills 12 but the sound that comes out is sweet....and loud! :D

 Oh get ye BACK ole deamon of temptation and sourcer of temptous things! Between You Tabbs, and Treem and Qvart....not much of anything Guild gets missed on the radar! :D
This is not yet my time!...though, that D4 is a fine one indeed. :D
Hate to ramble on..but I am still caught up and amazed at the SOUND and FEEL of this D25! the set up is just perfect for me, and she has been strung with mediums. ( I "USED TO " only play on lights) Man, WHAT a SOUND!!! and Looking at her whist playing her....she LOOKS like a new guitar! Suffice to say.....AGAIN, ......I am MORE than happy with this one, and just soooooo delighted to have her. :D
Still, just so happy she is HERE and that she arrived just as she was packed and sent ( excellent job there TOO Dadthrash!)Man, the BOX didnt even get a dented corner! Like she floated out of Dadthrashes hands and flew all the way to my house untouched!
One point I didnt mention, that has me in a bit of a puzzle.....is, upon checking the USPS shipping manifest, it shows that the guitar was taken off the airplaine cargo hold ( ie COLD COLD) and directly into the rhelm of customs (temperate, at least) and COULD have been inspected ( opened, taken out ect.) within minutes of arrival!
As it was, she was lucky, she cleared customs without inspection ( or an 'opening' at least...what a suprise!) and was sent out of customs on to processing for sending here WITHIN HALF AN HOUR!!
So This is what has gotten me worried..........NO time spent to aclimatise at all. If I were to have another guitar sent over someday  WOULD she be so lucky?
I will contact Aussie customs to find out if there is some procedure that can be put into place to protect a guitar friom such possible damages. ( maybe a code, or number , or SOMETHING I can put on the box that will indicate to them that this box needs to sit still for a couple of days!) Ill let you know what I come up with.
You statesiders need not worry about this one ( unless ya'll get a guitar sent IN ) But it will be good to know.............and even with hand carrying one in off the plane oneself! they will stop you to inspect it......NO WONDER those rich and famous folk book a seat for their guitars as well in travel!
But.......WHAT about the REST of US!!
stay tuned.
