Hello cathy,Inherited my brother's F212XL 12 string. Serial number 17784. No label inside. I've reviewed the Guild charts and it appears it might be a 1961. What do you think?
Hello cathy,
Welcome! That serial number would not be possible for an F-212XL. Can you check on the back of the headstock if you maybe missed a digit when you made a note of the serial number?
Sincerely,
Hans Moust

Hello Cathy,Hi Hans,
Posted photo. I was confused about the first digit. Is it a 1 or an I? Or maybe it's 1I7784?
Here it was:There's an older thread somewhere in which I've explained it some time ago.
Thank you. This is so helpful. In good shape, can you recommend appropriate range as asking price if I were to sell it?Hello Cathy,
That's a number one and a 'capital' i serving as a 1. They did that for a while during the '70s until they got an extra set of numbers.

So your F-212XL is from the year 1975.
