this one is sorta in my area which is a plus for me. I was hoping to check it out tomorrow but that isn’t possible because of my schedule unfortunately. I’ll try to make it next week. Looks like a cool example though with an interesting top and perhaps white binding? I asked for more photos but haven’t gotten any yet. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/6273365222732195/?mibextid=IouU6C
Looks to be in good shape. Also the old Guild pickguard shape indicates an early model.
Case is not a Guild case, that is a modern case but certainly a good case.

Thank you for the insight!

Interesting detail on that hardshell case, you can obviously add a shoulder strap!

that guitar is from 1970. there is a chance that the serial number was stamped so lightly into the back of the headstock, that it cannot be seen at all, or would take significant investigation to find it. Being "cherry" is also standard for this series (I previously owned OG 590 cherry)

If you want more vintage, then you're on the right track. Although not as vintage, the Corona, CA built D25's were all mahogany, flat backed guitars. I think the years were approximately 2002 to 2004ish? Someone can advise if I got the dates wrong. They're very nice guitars and came in SIX different finishes. They're newer and may have less issues if you're willing to explore that option. Here's the ad from 2003 that shows 5 of the finishes. (Brown Sunburst not shown)

Oh yeah! I think I’ve seen one of those on reverb, the seafoam green. Interestingly it reads to me more as a light sort of robin’s egg blue in that promo spread. I’m sure it presents differently in person. I do like the amber finish. Edit: I found the listing I was thinking of and WOW that’s an expensive D25, haha.

That price is not bad at all for these days, but for that guitar? It's in REALLY rough shape. The finish is wrecked and the saddle is low, so yeah for THAT guitar, the price is high!!

Are you talking about the Seafoam Green one at Station Music in Germany? That one is not in rough shape she is NOS. Never left the store since 2003 or 2004 due to the high asking price of that store. I actually played her in that store some years ago but the strings were old and I had no interest to buy her anyway. I was just curious to check her out. They still have another NOS one in Honey Blonde as well. Never understood their policy of just holding on to those prices when in 20 years nobody showed interest in them.
The saddle is not low either.

But maybe you were talking about a different D-25?

Yeah, Caseyholford had posted an ad for a Westerly D25. It was black and it was a MESS!! It looks like he's edited his post and the link to that particular guitar is no longer showing. So, not the green one!!

@Caseyholford there is a flatback '71 D25 just like mine for sale on the Tucson CL. Ad below. Not 100% sure but I think this may be an LTGer.

Casey, that sure looks like a spruce top (but it's hard to tell without stain), and D25's weren't done with natural tops with that style 'guard.

Suspect it's actually a D35 or mis-labeled, in fact, we discussed just such a case recently, is that one possibly the same one? (Rhetorical for you, I'm just too lazy to go search for that other thread right now.)

D35's were introduced at same time as D25 and massively outsold 'em for the first couple of years, going by the '68-'69 s/n records.

The photos are too low-rez to tell, but to me it looks like there's some wood figuring that means that could be a mahogany top. No way to be sure.

Anyway, it looks like a nice guitar from what we can see of it. But, given that it's facebook, and given that it's priced kinda' high, I'd avoid it unless you're close to NJ and can see it.

Sorry, if it took you to a black one that was a mistake, I edited the link because at first it was pointing to the wrong spot. Reverb links play silly buggers sometimes.

I decided to order the one you posted from GC to be delivered to my local store. So I'll see what's what, hopefully soon!
Very cool. I hope it's in good shape. Even if it's not, you can try it to get an idea if that is a model/year that you like. Keep us posted!

Just remembered the one-year only DV25 from '00, a flatback spruce-top D25, I assume offered as a stop-gap between the just-dropped DV-6 and the about-to-be-reinstated D40:
https://www.gad.net/Blog/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Guild-2000-Catalog-Pg18_1600.jpeg

Of the 3 we've sen offered over the last 15 years, the one that was up a couple of year ago claimed to have been the last guitar from Westerly, miraculously escaping the band-saw as Fender unceremoniously shut the doors, just before the big factory fire.

Seller had a rich fantasy life which I can understand, but not condone in this instance.
Yet another convoluted time at Guild. I think the DV4/DV25 just kind of show up in '99 as sort of the de-facto D35 to the now discontinued DV6's D40, which has now been displaced by the return of the actual D40.

I have OG590, sticker filled out by the same person (as the OG looks a lot like a 06. It is a 1970 and I can say that the headstock serial number stamp is very faint.
