We saw Andy McKee in April at the Ram's Head in Annapolis. I was gobsmacked in much the same way I was when we Tommy Emmanuel in the same small venue: If you play (even poorly as I do), you have some idea of what they're pulling off.

OK, one for me to add. Another great reason to love the guitar.

I'm shamelessly plugging our own frosty... Anyone covering Steely Dan rocks in my book. Great performance on this one, Mike. And also a nod to the late, great Peter Huttlinger for the arrangement:

And speaking of covers of that song, we saw Love Cannon in the same place in March of '15. They covered it as well:



In the "small world" category, Love Canon's mandolin player, Andy Thacker, lives across the street from me. His house is a magnet for musicians, sitting on the front porch, picking away.

We've seen them twice, and actively look for chances to catch them - they have that perfect combination of great musical chops, humor, and selflessness in letting everybody stretch out.
