Their house was ransacked in broad daylight the other day, big screen TV off the wall but not gone. All the rooms ransacked, Emmy's - girl twin - snow globes [collection] were shattered. The dogs were attacked with injuries, one will have to be put down. Her dog attacked her when she came home.
Sh-t!!😧

The melody to lyrics I wrote 5 months ago came to me in a dream yesterday morning between the time my dog first woke me chewing his feet and 12 minutes later when the alarm woke me the second time. This morning spent a half hour trying to get the tangles out of Vicki's hair that I had gotten out last week that evidently returned when I washed her hair yesterday with a new shampoo. My Peterson Stroboplus HDC arrived yesterday and I may need the rest of today learning how to operate it. SNAFU...

The pinnacle of my achievements is mowing anymore. I have thousands invested in mowers. Looking great this morning, went over the lawn with my ancient - die hard - triple bagger Ariens Hydro 12 yesterday, 15 bins, used them as potato mulch. I used to not like the way it cut, too low with some scalping, but now enjoying it more. Means more time between cuts.

Coffee is good. Can't start a day without it. Is there a direct correlations between cups and trips to the sh*tter?

Not sleeping well for a while now. Weird dreams all night every night.

I write them down sometimes.

Didn't even want to write last nights down.

Thinking about flatwounds again.

The world is going to hell in a handbasket.

I've never seen so many out of shape and grossly obese people at the grocery store before.

What is it with guys - older guys - at the register with a whole cart full of pop, and nothing but pop? Prob recovering alcoholics, from my observations they have to drink something sugary instead.

I no longer see bats at night, verified it last night. We used to have bats in our belfry, they are gone. Worried for the future of existence.

Biting flies are terrible this year.

The news are depressing.

Need to sell some guitars.

Back pain sucks.

Cherish those moments when you're not in pain, usually with your first cuppa.

My first born turns 36 tomorrow, fam will come out for BBQ with wild and uncontrollable 5yr old Grandbaby girl.

2nd born Bday is 3 days later. He made me a Grandpa at 45, then went on to have 3 more in quick succession. They're now 16, twins - boy & girl - are 15, last one is 14.

Planted a huge bean patch yesterday.

Need to drop the deck on my Deere and replace the spindles and blades today, and then mow orchard again before the grass is a foot taller than my hood like last time.

Time to make yogurt again.
You are very mundane, in a very complex and interesting way.
Hmmmmm..
I think I see what you did.

I started drinking coffee in the third grade.
In Germany, when I was a kid, many restaurants had "kinderkaffee" on the kids menu. 1/2 coffee, 1/2 hot chocolate. I'm a snob for Euro coffee. I can't stomache Folgers/Maxwell House course ground stuff. I mainly stick w/ the fine ground Melitta, Gevalia, Levazza type brands. And stockpile whenever any of them are on sale. They know good coffee. (y)

I should get Gevalia, I have seen that brand before around here.

I had a coffee shop 30 years ago. We served a drink that was 1/2 espresso, 1/2 hot chocolate that we called Loco Cocoa. It wasn’t for the kinder.

Sounds like you’re used to inferior coffee. :)

Perhaps. But I am happier with inferior coffee and time and money saved by compromise than I would be with outstanding coffee obtained at some cost to me.

That makes me sad. A proper espresso or cappuccino made from fresh ground locally roasted beans is sublime. There was certainly a learning curve (25 years ago for me now) and an equipment cost (also 25 years ago [I did upgrade my grinder, though]) but I can make a perfect cappuccino and clean up in the time it takes to brew a pot of “normal” coffee.

So I made yogurt.

It went well. I like the science of it. It's a biology experiment.

Turns out kiddo and Gkid not coming out tomorrow, little one has sudden sinus infection and mom starting to get sore throat "Could be Covid again". Previous Covid has left her with an inability to like cheese and yogurt, really sad.

The way to make good coffee, this is for picker buddy WW:

Buy decent roasted beans, but do NOT grind them at the store because there is other coffee in the grinder, some can be flavored, which is like drinking poison to me. Buy them already ground if you don't don't have a grinder.

We live in the PNW, it seems roasters are almost as common as ticks around here. Lucky.

Ditch the coffee maker, you need a French Press, or a Melita filter setup but I much prefer the French Press. Bodum is a good one but the glass can break from clumsiness, gravity, etc.

I use a stainless 4 cup model because it stays hot better.

Boil filtered water. Chlorine might be good for swimming pools but not coffee.

I use a Berkey, best $200 I ever spent.

In a 4 cup French Press, put 4 nearly heaping tablespoons of ground coffee. French Roast or anything dark is your best best.

Pour in the boiling water, to the top, put the plunger over the top to keep the heat in but don't press it down.

Wait 4 minutes.

Press the plunger down to the bottom.

For me, one teaspoon of Turbinado sugar, pour in 3/4 cup of coffee, leaving room for Half & Half or whole milk.

Half & Half makes it sinfully delicious, you may drink it too fast.

Whole milk isn't quite as good and doesn't get the same "Cafe au Lait" color, but still quite good, and a lot cheaper.

Enjoy a decent cuppa.

Donate your Mr. Coffee, Folgers, Keurig, etc to charity.

Free from mowing forever more.

I envy you.

I didn't plant this "lawn". It's just grass that's part of the creation, which is very large. I try to keep it down so we can see snakes, and it's easier to walk, and your feet don't get quite as soaked after a rain. A lot of rain this year.
