Get organic whole bean coffee, grind the beans up and fill your normal drip maker with a heaping tablespoon of coffee per cup, and drink it black. That’s how the pros do it, great cup every time no matter the bean

Ditch the coffee maker, you need a French Press, or a Melita filter setup but I much prefer the French Press. Bodum is a good one but the glass can break from clumsiness, gravity, etc.

Not necessarily so.

We make our coffee in this and it makes fine coffee:

We had one of these in an Airbnb in Moab this spring, and it was excellent as well:

That makes me sad. A proper espresso or cappuccino made from fresh ground locally roasted beans is sublime. There was certainly a learning curve (25 years ago for me now) and an equipment cost (also 25 years ago [I did upgrade my grinder, though]) but I can make a perfect cappuccino and clean up in the time it takes to brew a pot of “normal” coffee.
Just keep following the rabbit hole…

I just open the little drawer and put in the keurig what ever my wife buys, sometimes mixes it up. Usually there’s red ones, green ones, yellow then purple. I just know the purple color tastes best. She’s never had coffee in her life so I’m just thankful she keeps it stocked, or else….

I didn’t get to drink my second cup this morning, I planted it somewhere after I fixed it, inside or outside the house. Not really sure if the deficiency in caffeine has affected me or not.

I played a couple of my guitars today, then crawled back in my chair to watch Wagon Train.

I started a different medical treatment this week and it’s slow getting acclimated, mental fog. So this is a good thread for me.

I can’t really remember the past few days, but what is evident on my bank statement today is that at some point between today and last Monday, I’ve purchased three more Guilds. The cases are piling up, and I can’t find my kids

It's like a guitar. Good guitar, good tone.

Bad coffee/bad coffee.

Get a bag of decent ground coffee and you should be fine.

Wife likes to heap the 4 tablespoons too high "likes it that way", makes too strong a coffee, not as pleasant to drink.

Decent water, decent beans, decent coffee.

I sometimes type for 20 minutes instead of pressing the plunger down, I sometimes press it instantly just enough to get a cup, results are usually about the same, good coffee.

Something I learned in Seattle in the early days of the coffee craze from Illy Cafe sales people and barristas is that strong coffee should never mean bitter. Bitter is another problem, probably over roasting.

We use Craven's Earth & Sky blend, reliably great coffee, morning after morning. I keep an extra bag cold in cellar but not frozen. I also put it in a ziplock before use, and between uses.

I use an ancient Braun grinder stuck on Espresso, too fine for drip or press, doesn't seem to be much of a problem unless overheaping the measuring spoons.

Try a dark coffee like French Roast from a reputable coffee purveyor, and filter the tap water, and your coffee should improve markedly.

There's always Earl Grey, but to me it doesn't have the same kick.

The melody to lyrics I wrote 5 months ago came to me in a dream yesterday morning between the time my dog first woke me chewing his feet and 12 minutes later when the alarm woke me the second time. This morning spent a half hour trying to get the tangles out of Vicki's hair that I had gotten out last week that evidently returned when I washed her hair yesterday with a new shampoo. My Peterson Stroboplus HDC arrived yesterday and I may need the rest of today learning how to operate it. SNAFU...

I can hear a song in the background - they sing "Vicky, Vicky, who the f... is Vicky?" - and the limousine pulls off . . .

I opened a coffee shop here in our small farm town back in the early 2000’s, “Mud Puppies”, mostly to give the kids a place to hang out after school to keep them out of the streets. During the first year, I had to open at 6am because of the teachers. Then the parents were dropping elementary school kids off for frappaccinos before school Every morning. Everyone in Gilbert was avid coffee drinkers evidently, I was not aware of that little nugget. The kicker was that coffee supply distributors were sending me free stuff to hook me in, mainly chocolate covered roasted coffee beans. I put those in a large glass jar on the counters for kids after school. Well here they come. The more they ate, the faster they talked. They all had black pieces of bean in thier teeth, it was a challenge to look at them while they talked and laughed. Scary thing was they seemed really distressed when I ran out, my wife thought it best I not put them out any more. Yeah, I think I saw that movie before. 🤯👹🔪😵🚑

I found a rock today, shaped like a piece of candy corn. I may paint it to look like candy corn.

I apparently have too much time on my hands.

I French-press my coffee.Have to. I also French-fry my potatoes, and French-kiss ladies too, for the same patriotic reasons.
I drink about 1 and a half liter coffee a day, so I make it very weak. Warm and "transblack",but not strong.
I may add some cinnamon. No sugar, please.
I don't care if it comes from Ethiopian highlands, or if each individual bean was hand-carved by nuns.
Everybody hates my coffee, they call it "socks juice" or "donkey's piss". I don't mind.
The café they pour in "cafés" over here consists of 3 centiliters of pure creosote,it drills through your belly and melts your boots!
The café they sell in more hip bars -where beards have been topiared-is now a "macchiato",same stuff, more expensive, makes you think you are Lucky Luciano.
Same with beers: I like me a plain Pils,-but they hand me this very nice synthetic-raspberry-flavored IPA,wrapped in a lecture on the ancestral art of burping! Sometimes, I wish I were George Carlin .....
-The best " real Mac Coy" cappuccino I ever drank was in Venice, Italy.

Thunderstorms crackling overhead. Suddenly remembered I was supposed to try the S50 through a fuzz into a tube amp just as wife comes back in the house...

I my minds eye, I see 4 crabs at a time sitting on little square bar stools whipping the claws clean on a huge roll of paper towels all wondering what's for dinner.
