I had come across an article that discussed this style pickup and they mentioned DeArmond and Schaller and I was left with the understanding that Schaller was the origionator. That patent shows otherwise.
(At the moment I can't find the article. It was a good one with pictures of the PuPs.)
Maybe the one in the post just above Hans' post?

Yes. The European Guitar Forum article is the one I saw.

I tried like heck to find this last night on google.

Found a UK dealer that claims to have a Capri in stock -

Still going to hold out for colour options. Hoping for black ...

and another one -

plus andertons reckon they're getting them the day after tomorrow.

Edit - Andertons just put their delivery date back by a month, so they don't have them yet.

I might wander down to Denmark Street later to see if any of the shops there have any yet. If I actually get my hands on one, I'll let you know.

Thomann is listing them as "in stock" too. I'll start GAS-ing as soon as there's a single coil model - and yes, black please!!

Nope, nothing in Denmark Street. Which isn't surprising to be honest, since the main FMIC dealer down there didn't get the original Newark Streets in because they didn't have enough space for another brand after Fender and Gretsch.

I'm not familiar at all with the Guild mini-hums, but they seem small enough that a Franz or DeArmond would be a workable replacement, no?
