From what I understand, when Ren Ferguson took charge in 2016 over Oxnard (VP of manufacturing and R&D), they've redesigned all USA Guild bracing (from D-20 and up to F-512). There are those distinguished "peak" bracings seen near soundhole in F-512 (pics attached).
Here is his quote :
"THE GUITAR WILL BE IDENTICAL IN PHYSICAL APPEARANCE, BUT IT'LL HAVE THE DNA OF THE LAST GUITAR THAT WERE BUILT IN NEW HARTFORD, AND THOSE WERE THE ORPHEUM SERIES.... THE IDEA IS THAT THOSE GUITARS WILL BE GUITARS THAT SOUNDS LIKE YOU'VE OWNED THEM FOR 30 YEARS."

Interesting. What are those pictures of braces from, Yura?
my F-512 Oxnard (2019), but I saw it in every Oxnard Guilds I was lucky to put my hands on (including F-55, D-20, D-55, F-40 Trad.)

That pyramid brace in front of the bridge plate is interesting, Yura. I'll have to dig up a photo of my Tacoma-era F-512 for comparison. Neat.
If I recall correctly, those peaky pyramid braces (on both treble and bridge sides of the soundhole, are found in most of USA Oxnard Guilds - including F-55, D-20, D-55, F-40 Trad.) are part of bracing redesign by R. Ferguson and Co. (from 2016 and up). It does sound distinguishably different from NH, Tacoma or Westarly, as far as I can tell

Yuma, when you have a chance I'd love to see more inside pictures of your Oxnard F-512 to compare. I've got a full spread of my Tacoma's braces.

I just looked Charlie, and my '22 D40 Traditional has the pyramid brace, too. Might contribute to the huge sound from that guitar!

My 2018 D40 Trad has it too. My 2012 New Hartford D50 does not. My guess is it started when Oxnard production started.

Chazmo, as far as I know the new bracing pattern was redesigned by R. Ferguson somewhere b/w 2014-16, since "Cordoba started... releasing its first models (M-20 and D-20) in early 2016. Higher-end models like the D-55 were released in late 2017. " As I mentioned before I saw these distinguished pyramids in all post 2018 Guilds I could find ( I have 3 guilds of this era - all have them). Here is a new bracing mentioned in 2016 NAMM : .

I took several pics of my F-512 bracing as well. Bwt, just to mention, these are scalloped Adi braces. And pls share yours, interesting to see the differences.

@Yura I will dig up the bracing interior shots of my 2006 Tacoma F-512 and post them here when I can. Can you describe the details of what problems you are having uploading pictures to LTG? Are you getting an error message that we can decipher here? I've had no troubles uploading pictures to LTG. Are you using the "Attach files" button on your post?

Gang, I moved all the discussion of the new bracing that we learned of from Yura here to this new thread. Have at it.

I think it might've started with the Orpheum, Woody, but do you know if any of the New Hartford GSRs got the pyramid?
I don't but I bet Ralf might.
And my comment was a joke due to Oxnard's perceived criteria of what constitutes GSR. 😂

Oh, I didn't get that it was a joke, obviously, but it might be the right answer. I do not know when Ren starting making the bracing change, and whether or not he did it at all in New Hartford. But I can confirm that my 2013 Orpheum 12 string does NOT have a pyramid brace in front of the X brace. I don't know if that rules out all the New Hartford Orpheums, but it's a sample of 1. Maybe he started doing it on GSR models?

@chazmo, using the “Attach file” button, for 85% of any .jpg or .png (below 1.5MB) images I’m getting a thumbnail w. Message inside it “The uploaded file was not an image as expected” (same when trying to drag and drop in the post. Started to happen only recently, wasn't an issue before ) . Tried to upload from Chrome
