I'm not sure if anyone here has a F55E, but plenty here have similar F50Rs and JF55s. My lone Oxnard build is a D40 Traditional, and while not strictly comparable to yours, it's a great guitar that's light and very resonant. I would expect yours to be similar.

How about sharing some photos with us when it arrives, along with your thoughts? We love photos around here!

I did have an Oxnard built F-55 and it was superb. I sold it to pay for some vet costs for my buds. I'm quite sure you'll be very happy with it. I know I was. Oxnard is/was doing some good things there.

Well, one is maple, and one is rosewood so they're not strictly comparable. A better comparison would be to hat's now called the "F55 Maple", that used to be the F50. I can say that my 2011 F50ce Standard is better than any J/SJ 200 I've played, with the possible exception of Rev. Gary Davis's '51.

I was slightly beside myself playing it!

I've never played any Gibson SJ 200 Std or Studio that could compare to my Guild F 50's. There truly was just no comparison at least to my ear. I'm not saying the SJ 200 is a bad guitar, it surely is not that. I just feel the Guild F 50 offers much more in terms of tone, projection, playability and value than any SJ 200 I've ever owned and I have had quite a few.

I'm forgetting that there are rosewood J200s! Well, most of them are maple.

I haven't played an SJ200, but I'd wager the F55 is totally comparable. I've heard more than one person say they prefer the Guild over the Gibson. I believe they're both the same size even though Gibson calls it a super jumbo while Guild modestly calls it a jumbo (17.25 inch lower bout). Either way, jumbos are where it's at.
