Hello fellow forum members!!! I have just purchased a brand new (for me) used 2001 Westerly Guild F-47MCE. I got this guitar mainly because I am starting to play some open mic's locally and this guitar has just a beautiful on board Fishman blend pre-amp. This guitar sounds wonderful plugged in or unplugged. I was playing it plugged into my AER Compact 60, and found that low volume on the guitar, and higher volume on the amp is the best way to go for this combo. Very accurate sound production. I slide the blend about 65% undersaddle, 35% mic and then balance the trebles and bass and am ready to go! I find this guitar just stunningly beautiful, and it is a joy to play. For some reason, the action on this guitar is the lowest of any of my guitars and still no buzzing!! The specs on this recomment 10's guage strings for some reason, but I have 12's on it (because I'm used to that) and it plays wonderfully. Here are some pics......

It's a beauty wily and one I hope to add to my stable one day. I'm a purely living room player at this for about 4 years now and do not play out but the F47s are fabulous guitars IMHO.

I have a mahogany and a rosewood F47 and love them both. I find them very easy to fingerpick and very comfortable to play.

Welcome to LTG.

He's starred at Arlington Tejas (and had his photo in a guitar mag when there), on first name terms with Doyle Dykes and an excellent rendition of 'Me and Bobby McGee' kicks off the second CD in the historic twin LTG CD set

Thanks for the welcome guys (and gals?) and for the kind words about the guitar.....it is a beauty, but if it didn't sound so darn good, I wouldn't have got it....lol.....by the way, I know a lot of guys who claim "I'm only a living room player", "I'm a hobby player", "I'm new to guitar"...etc.etc.....lol....and when you go to jam with them....they hand you your lunch!!!!! But I'm all about playing and sound.....so I love it all.......thanks again...

Wonderful guitar!

As a matter of fact, I wanted to buy one of these, a sunburst F65 with flame maple sides and back, unfortunately I wasn't able to find any, so I've taken the Contemporary version of the F-47, the Cv-2C, but still, althought mine is a great guitar and brand new, I'd change with yours.

P.S. Question for the experts of the board: is it possible to find a F-47 pickguard? It's way better than the GAD mine came with.
