Welcome aboard, iJam...

She's a beaut for sure. Congrats! I didn't realize that they were using open-back butterbean tuners on the F-47 in Tacoma. Apparently, that seems to have started a trend which carried forward in the new production line in New Hartford as they're using open-backs for everything. My local store is soon to receive a new F-47 (I don't think it's a maple version though). I've never played that model.

Yes, that's the one thing I'd change. The Gotoh open-backs are smooth and tight and everything, but aesthetically, I think it's screaming for some Grover Imperials. Something chunkier looking. At some point, I may switch them out, but I can't confirm that the mounting hole pattern is the same as of yet. I'm not going to be drilling new holes in the headstock.

Seems like they should have included washers between the headstock face itself and the nuts that hold the post on. The nut is so small, If you look close there are little gaps where the headstock holes are exposed. 5 cents worth of some washers could have fixed that. I'm getting pretty nit-picky here, but hey, this is Guild were talking about.

This guitar is far better than I am, but so enjoyable every time I picked it up to practice.
And THAT is what they're REALLY all about. Makes it enjoyable to just practice doesn't it! Kind of like knowing you're driving a Ferrari even though you know you're never gonna race it... Welcome Aboard!
