Has anyone seen a P-250E in the wild? I don’t see it on the website but saw a listing on an auction site. Looks like an homage to a Gibson L-00

I see it on the Guitar Center/Musician's Friend sites. Maybe an exclusive?

Yeah. Lots of places seem to have it and claim it is new. While Guild's website can be lagging they almost never list the exclusives and let the seller do all of the promotion.

Based on the P-240 Memoir, the P-250E Memoir is a small-bodied parlor guitar built with a solid spruce top and pau ferro back and sides. Modified with a 14 fret-to-body neck like the DS-240, the P-250E offers a brighter tone, with more attack as well as better access to upper frets. A vintage-inspired mother of pearl rosette and Guild Script Logo pay homage to the classic styling of instruments from the 1920s, while a Guild Fishman-designed GT-1 pickup system delivers stage-ready performance.

So someone who is motivated might look to see how the specs have changed. I think we have had some hands on experience with the P-240.

NAMM is coming up in a couple of weeks and maybe this model leaked out early. We saw it happen with the vibrato Surfliner.

There’s a vibrato Surfliner?
It hasn't been released yet.

I don't want to be all negative, and though I do like my 400 dollar-ish 2 yr old P-240 for what it is, the build is still quite heavy and the tone somewhat stiff and stilted, much like I recall ladder braced guitars from when I didn't know better about bracing. I'll actually be installing an extension nut to turn it into a lap slide, expecting it to be awesome underneath a stainless steel tone bar.

I wouldn't fool myself to ever compare to the lightweight, open, woody sound of an L00. I wish Guild would take this model and the P-240 alike back home to Oxnard, and out of the hands of overseas builders, and redesign it as a lighter, more responsive actual homage to 00's from higher quality guitars. Jack up the tonewoods, jack up the price and give us something that can roll with small bod Gibsons and Martins. Long overdue.

I tried a P-240 Memoir at my local music store. It was OK, but didn't really excite me. YMMV.

The new P-250E Memoir in VSB (Vintage Sunburst) is based on the P-240 Memoir.
The P-250E Memoir is a small-bodied parlor guitar built with a solid spruce top and pau ferro back and sides (vs. mahogany on the P-240).
Modified with a 14 fret-to-body neck like the DS-240 (vs. 12 frets on the P-240) the P-250E offers a brighter tone, with more attack as well as better access to upper frets.
A vintage-inspired mother of pearl rosette and Guild Script Logo pay homage to the classic styling of instruments from the 1920s, while a Guild Fishman-designed GT-1 pickup system (vs. no pickup in the P-240) delivers stage-ready performance.

Street price $699.99. (vs. $529.00 for the P-240)

Already in stock in various shops:

And here is a deal for $450, in outstanding looking wood, but has some small damage on the front lower bout:

If it's a "200 series" guitar, I would assume that wood is laminated?

If it does not say solid it is not solid. General rule. And it was never different on arched back guitars.... The top is solid and sides and back are laminated. US made archbacks have also at least a laminated back, just don't get those comments...

What I find slightly odd is that they have replaced the three rocker switches with a standard Strat' style five position switch on this, but on the HH model they use two rocker switches, rather than a three way toggle switch. Using individual on / off switches gives additional pickup combinations on the three pickup guitar, but not with the two pickup version

Yes. I'm not so much surprised that they have used the five position switch here, after all it is a well proven and popular design option. I'm more surprised that they stuck with the rocker switches for the HH version, rather than switch to a standard toggle switch

Just got one. I really always wanted a Parlor guitar, but didnt want to dip my foot in at the Gibson or Martin price point. Looked at the PRS and decided, since i already have a D6_NT (1992), a Guild would be a no brainer. It sounds a little boxy, but a lot fuller than the Fender. Not really a fan of the 3 piece neck construction, but it plays great. out of the box, it could use a little set-up. strings are a little high, like for a bang-away player. if anyone else has one, i'd love to know what you think.

EDIT: i love the shape of the neck. reminds me of my J45. big and thick, like a baseball bat.

Welcome to LTG, Todd. And, congrats on your new P-250... Do you have a picture of the pau ferro back of it? The earlier pictures we saw looked quite eye-popping.
