One more pic as it's out by the fireplace and I've been having fun playing it. Very sweet! Kinda' dwarfs the Surfliner, doesn't it? :)

Call me boring, but I find those distracting and a bit 'trying too hard'. I like the simplest form of that guitar. The stock black for me.

I'd find cream buttoned Waverly tuners, as well, to streamline the peghead too.

I agree, but I'm a low bling type myself. I really love my D18 Authentic 1939, not just for the way it sounds and plays, but for the way it looks too. It's just a guitar; everything you need, and nothing you don't.

OK, gang... What do you think? I had an extra Thalia TRC in koa... The flip side of it is rosewood (I think)... Do you like either / neither? The stock TRC that came with the guitar is black plastic... Can't make up my mind...

Chaz, congrats on the F50, and if I recall, it has been a while since you got a new to you Guild, no? I still think an F50 is a model I should own one day...

Re the TRCs, I actually like neither. But my opinion is not very relevant :)

Again, congrats on this quintessential classic Guild acoustic. Nobody makes the big maple jumbos like Guild, nobody.

Thanks for the opinions, gang!! I really appreciate it.

@Westerly Wood you really must try an F-50 or F-50R, Woody! Having said that, I know your recent inclinations have been away from the bigger-bodied guitars. Totally understandable.

Well, I'm a jumbo lover, so nothing new or intimidating to me. :)
Super major congrats! I might have to get me one of those one of these days. I had the F50R out the other day... It sure is easier to fingerpick than my 12ers, lol!

Yeah, there's definitely a technique for using your fingers on a 12er, Cougs. If you articulate them less and make a flatter stroke on each course, you might find it fairly easy to adjust.

That is a lovely example of a New Hartford F-50..
We have a rare case where the bottom screw of the TRC is missing!!!
Buuuut at least it is right side up!!

Just testing out different TRCs, D30Man... Both screws are in place now. No need to call out the mounties on me (yet). :D
