Hmm. Yeah. First stop was here http://theguitarmechanic.com/muller.html but there is nothing in stock. It is perfectly playable now but needs attention. There is definitely some corrosion with the springs on the other strings so I expect they are probably frozen. I was hoping to MacGyver something....

Hans can probably hook you up with replacements.

Hmm... I think I'd be looking to replace that bridge, acme. The roller saddles look fine, but the other screws and springs don't look so good and I'll bet they're frozen in their screw holes anyway... You might try taking the bridge off and soaking it in solvent to try to recondition each saddle but as you said you'll still have to replace the low e-string screw (and probably spring).

Good luck!

They're damn-near unobtanium these days, plus you need to make sure you get the right version (there are at least three). There are two Muller bridges on Revern right now for just shy of $300.

That's a bummer. Fair enough, GAD.

I'm sure somebody knows this off this top of their head. What are specs of the intonation adjustment screw on the bridge of an S300? This showed up with low E screw snapped. Thanks.
Which Muller version is your bridge, acme?

Eyeballing it I'd say it is type 2 per Ken Nash's page. I had no idea until today that were two kinds with the slotted ends. But good to know it is apparently compatible with type 1 with the enclosed ends. I'm grateful it is playing ok now but feel like I might be on borrowed time with some of these screws and springs.

Contact Hans - I'm pretty sure he has some of the screw/saddle sets.

This hardware is pretty hard to find. I have the 1st version of the Muller bridge on my M-75, and the screws should be the same as yours.

Using my limited measurement tools, I think these screws are steel slotted cheese head screws M2 x 0.4 x 14. (Metric shaft width x thread pitch x shaft length in mm) In standards speak, I think these are in the group DIN 84 or ISO 1207. Not sure which strength class.

Note that older German Framus guitars also used these bridges, and you might want to try that search avenue if Hans can't get you one or you can't find them yourself. Good luck!

If Hans can’t help you I might be able to.

I’ve got an incomplete type 2 I’m willing to part out in case of emergencies.

I’d be trying to free them up with some solvent first and get them working. As mentioned above, these are getting hard to find and more pricey.

Hans indicated he should be able to help out once back from his travels so hopefully that works out. But many thanks to both jp and mushroom for the detail and offer. I had also reached out to german-vintage-guitar.com who didn't have anything. But they put me in touch with musikkeller.com. I haven't heard back yet but this guy does have a FRAMUS Nr.: 148b on his site which at 80mm could potentially work or be parted out. Even if Hans comes through I'm tempted to get this for communal spares if applicable.

Having said all that, I did go into a specialist bolt/screw shop with one (bridge) and they had one (screw) that was right. I think it cost me 8 cents but that was years ago.
