So Saturday I was checking out the $949.00 X 350 and 175, hadn't seen that the green Starfire III had an earlier post about it's price drop. Thought I'd check and sure enough there were 5 at that price. While I was doing my best to talk myself out of one, I looked into the time payment plans as property taxes I'd just paid ate 4 grand a few days before. Going back to the page there were now just 4! I didn't need the guitar, trying to stay with vintage stuff ensures a quasi limit to what I will buy, but I knew if I didn't buy one I'd be kicking myself
as it looked as if the Korean Guilds were at their end of production. So then there were 3!

I got a call today from "Jason", my new rep from Sweetwater telling me what a great deal I'd gotten. Yeah, I know, I thought. Then an hour ago I saw a notice from eBay that the
price had dropped again to $799.00. And checking, it was of course sold, as were the others on the Sweetwater site. So I might have saved another $150, but realistically by the time
I would have found out about the lower price I wouldn't have had guitar one. Kismet, I tells ya! Anyway, it's supposed to arrive Monday. At any rate, it will be a companion to my
black 97 Starfire II.

I just ordered a blue X175 at $949 (it's supposed to arrive today!), and this morning saw a post on the original thread that they were marked down further to $799. Oh well, just enjoy the guitar!

Call them back and tell them you want the new price. If they don't give it to you, tell them you'll be returning the one you have and buying another one at the new price!

Sweetwater (I think) seemed to be clearing out their stock; maybe that's what you're referring to... In any case, we still do not have actual confirmation that the Korean NSs are going away.

I was mainly thinking about the fact that the green version was supposed to be a Sweetwater exclusive, and once they sold out there would be no more.
I'm really not upset about the cheaper price--if I hadn't bought mine when I did I'm sure I would have missed out completely--I wouldn't have been monitoring their site 24/7. An antique wholesaler I used to buy from in the 70s would periodically have a sale where the prices would go down a certain percent each day. One could wait, hoping a desired piece might be had for even cheaper, but at a certain point you realized skinflints missed out on the
the good stuff.
