As a Guild enthusiast, I like the dreadnaught and jumbo shaped acoustics. But I find for the style I play, I'm drawn to the OM body.
As for American-made Guilds, we only have the M-20 Concert being produced. No OMs (F-30s) or Grand Auditoriums (F-47s) are being made.
Yes, one can find used F-30s and F-47s. But these seem to be fewer and far between. And conditions can be a crapshoot online.
Does anyone else want to see the return of American-made Guild Orchestra Model and Grand Auditorium acoustic guitars?

Bring back the OM.

Preaching to the choir my friend. I’d love to see it also, but there are still great used ones to be found. Wait until March or April and some more should start coming out of winter hibernation.

Yup I’m with Heymikey Lol Reev you can add the contemporary models in . Cv-1 and 2 are both 16” lower bouts but the beauty of these models is that they keep the same body depth as OM’s and OOO’s 😊

I don't think that we need to fit Guild guitars into size and shape classifications from other brands like Martin or Taylor. I kinda like that they can stay on their merits. We will see if Oxnard will release additional sizes that were popular in the past.

Yeah, but what would they call it?

That's a joke of course, Mostly, anyway.
A US made "Orchestra" would be a OM-40. Hence the current "F-48" is called "F-40"...
But you are right, a OM-40 with 15" lower bout would be the former F-30, so a former F-40 (16") doesn't exist in Oxnards naming scheme!
In "Taylor speak" it would be a Grand Auditorium GA-40.

My two favorite sizes/shapes are probably a long-scale F40/F44/F47, etc. and a short-scale F30 (000 more than OM).

But as with anything, I suspect there's a marketing team deciding what sells and what doesn't. It doesn't mean they're right. Taylor seems to be doing alright with their variety of sizes and naming conventions.

I would be up for an American made OM preferable in Spruce/Rosewood. I owned a Martin M36 years ago and still regret selling it. Replacing it it with a Guild would be perfect.:)

That's difficult as the M-36 had 16" lower bout but only a 4 1/8" thin body I believe. So it depends what dimensions you liked.
There was no F-40R but a limited GSR F-40 Cocobolo (which is a great guitar).
And the F-47R had a 4.75" deep body.

Seems Guild is content to keep the US production just Dreads, Jumbos and Concert, and let the overseas factories produce all the rest. And really, they are not bad guitars, I bet the Westerly Collection OMs are fine in their own right. So long as you can get past the import bias.

Having said that, I agree it should be made here, and while at it, make a spruce topped rosewood bodied concert size out of Oxnard too.

The F30 is a classic Guild model. I don't understand why Oxnard is content to exclude it. Seems to me it would be a big seller. Same with the F47 size. It's perfect if you don't want a dread but a full jumbo is too big.

Yeah, I know. I am glad to have a CO-2, F-30, and F-47.
Ah I forget you got one . lol
It would nice to see the F-30’s back. I find it a bad move over all to have cut them out but When I am able to buy Guild I promise they’ll move to the front of line with more options as well . 😃😁😂

I’d like consider the F 47 again . I know I’ve said before and I’m not trying to upset anyone by mentioning again but I haven’t bonded with that model . Tonally I felt it was lacking, at this point I can’t remember what exactly it was . If I get strong itch I might give it a go again . 😊
