It was the M-20 and D-20. I'm not even sure it was January. Its was months ago when they were taking orders. Maybe it was a NAMM order? Do I sound confused????:confused-new:

Thanks Bing.

Only thing makes wonder about preordering in this case is not knowing what there going sound like . One could hope they'll pick where they left off or maybe they'll sound even better but until you have one in hand it's a guessing game during first runs ..... Maybe ?
Reminds me of a member here who took a flyer on a Contemporary model recently, who was that guy?
I don't think he was a dealer, but at least for dealers they understand it's just part of the deal...

I just emailed Guild to see if they offer factory tours in Oxnard as I will be there in January with some free time. Anyone here know if they offer such? If not, I'll try to sign up for Taylor's tour. Or maybe Larivee's. Thanks

The "Let's Meet Guild" event mentioned here (which will include a factory tour, we all hope/believe) will not occur until after the January NAMM show. You may draw your own conclusions but mine are that no one will be touring the factory in January. Feel free to take another tour and report. There is some interest at LTG in how other companies build guitars and some New Hartford personnel were explicit in acknowledging ideas and techniques they were using that they had "learned" from another company. For that matter, it's not like Ren Ferguson had to forget everything he learned at Gibson when he started working for Guild :)

Guild just presented the first Oxnard made M-20 on Facebook!

They wrote today (Dec 18): "We strung up our first USA-made Guild M-20! Press play to hear how this beautiful guitar sounds--you don't want to miss it!"

Here's the short video:

https://www.facebook.com/guildguitars/videos/10153139792621105/

They also wrote: "We've just completed our first batch of USA Made M-20s. We're still tweaking certain aspects of the guitar and will go through a few more versions before these are ready to go out to all of our Guild fans."

And note: No G-Shield on the headstock veneer, so the pamphlet from NAMM in January was just a Photoshop version.

Cool! That little guitar has a nice vibe to it. Looking forward to hearing more in the future.

And, to qualify...

Guild Guitars Hi Stefano! We've just completed our first batch of USA Made M-20s. We're still tweaking certain aspects of the guitar and will go through a few more versions before these are ready to go out to all of our Guild fans. Sit tight though, we're getting close!

Canada .... brrr
Glad to see that good progress is finally made. As they are still "tweaking" I guess what's being produced now would still be called prototype. Also no TRC on the shown model.

and i couldnt really make out the Guild logo and headstock either. Logo did not look normal to me, but again, these will be sold as is as prototypes or 2nds?

I think Merlin's correct to call 'em prototypes, since they say they're going to "go through a few more versions" before they're "ready to go out"
For that reason I highly doubt they'll offer 'em for sale, even "as is".
Protypes of anything are rarely offered for sale alongside of or before the "final production version", it only only serves to dilute and confuse the brand and model image.
Another caution would be too much potential downside from one bad review snowballing all over the internet.
Not that that's ever happened before, but still.....
:biggrin-new:
