I think Merlin's correct to call 'em prototypes, since they say they're going to "go through a few more versions" before they're "ready to go out"
For that reason I highly doubt they'll offer 'em for sale, even "as is".
:biggrin-new:

Let's hope in seven years somebody isn't posting about a "prototype" M-20 they just bought that they believe is from Oxnard.

"It has no label or serial number, and appears to have only been played in a short video!"

LOL, but right, that's why I tried to qualify my explanation as meaning "I don't think they'd do that right away".

and i couldnt really make out the Guild logo and headstock either. Logo did not look normal to me, but again, these will be sold as is as prototypes or 2nds?
I thought I saw a standard "peaked Guild" headstock logo" partly obstructed by a clip-on tuner. Maybe inlaid (I'd even say probably inlaid), but hard to tell...

Short scale?!?
A new one to me, did Guild ever do that before?
It just hit me: Was (is) Jane's FS4612ce shortscale?
By golly, it looks like it's got the same neck length as the F45ce, a shortscale.
I'D wanna try one of those too!

I'm not aware of the F-112 having a short scale (mine doesn't) but I was just dreaming about what guitar would best suit my needs at this point in my life. An F-112 body with a short scale would be just about perfect. Well, maybe rosewood...

I tried to see if I could arrange a tour since I will be near Oxnard. Here was Guild's response:

...so we are currently working on finalizing our factory here in Oxnard, which should be ready by the turn of 2016. As of now, since it is not even ready for production, we are not offering tours just yet. Once we have it all ready and start production of the USA Guild Guitars, we will start offering tours.

Yes, the FS4612CE is a short scale 24 3/4", 24 fret cutaway.

The Orph slothead 12 is short scale as well.

And the 12 string version of the F45CE...

Somebody's counting his chickens!

True that. And, I have watched that video a lot over past several days. I realize the finish is similar to the Recording King Dirty 30s burst, of which I am not a fan. So, I am hoping part of the tweaking is that it looks more hog like for the top.

The hangup came from a Machine press that they use in the guitar making process. Apparently the machine was drawing more Current than the State of California was happy with when it was in use and this was the hold up for final permitting".

If that is true that's hilarious. Really?? :single_eye:

May have to invest in a D-20. I've been looking at all-hog guitars and this may do it!

Maybe. I would look instead around for an early 70s D25BR. The D20s will be wicked stiff out of the box.
