Absolutely, I will upload tons and provide a good review. I never have played this model before, but I just know I will love the tone for some reason. I was weary about not being able to play it first, but calling the music shop, they said that they have a tech that sets up all guitars after they get them from the factory, and they are the largest guild dealer. So that helped put my mind at ease.

I bought it off of Ebay from a music shop in Brooklyn New York called 'Street Sounds'. They say they are the largest authorized Guild dealer in the world.

I paid $1399 for it.

I've never dealt with them but have heard good comments and they're a "Top Rated Plus" seller with 100% positive customer feedback. And that's a good price for the rosewood F-30R since they have the F-30 (mahogany) listed at that price. Nice of them to knock off $100 on top of free shipping.

Enjoy, and we'll be waiting on photos. :)

Guys!

I just ordered an F-30R Standard (Made in America) in the natural finish. SO.... FREAKInG... EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But it is shipping from the US (i'm in Canada), so gotta wait about another 10 days before I'll have it in my hands and playing Scarborough Fair!

Thanks for everyone's help!

Cool! Looks like you'll have yours way before I get mine back from the neck reset. Looking forward to seeing your photos.

Yep, still another 10 days before I get it.. very excited!

I want to get some fingerpicks like Paul Simon used in the S&G days. Anyone know which kind he used? When I look at the videos, they look metal, but I'm not sure.

Also what about strings that would get even closer to his tone in that time? The guitar comes with D'Addario® EXP 16 Coated Phosphor Bronze (.012-.053 Gauges) from the factory.

Simon used D'Aquisto lights for many years...into the '80s, then switched. D'Aquisto strings are still available but difficult to find and I've heard less-than-favorable comments....okay, some very negative comments. When you get the guitar, do what most of us do, and try several different brands/types of strings.

It doesn't really matter what brand of fingerpicks he used, but I do know he used metal picks with a plastic thumbpick. Again, see what your local shops have and start there. Don't forget, none of us are Paul Simon and what worked/works for him doesn't mean the same will work for us. Often, he didn't use any fingerpicks, only his nails. Just do what's most comfortable and natural for you and enjoy that new guitar!

Stilllllll waiting for my F-30R to arrive. I feel like my expectations are building higher and higher as I listen to more S&G live performances.

Right now, I am stuck on The Boxer.. can't stop listening/playing it. The only acoustic I have here is a classical, so getting the F30r will be a huge huge change in tone.. can't wait.

I can relate, and bet it's driving you crazy!! For me, the most incredible recording I've heard of Simon's F-30R Special #2 is "Mrs. Robinson". Just an amazing sound and Paul's playing style is inspiring.

Yep, love 'Mrs. Robinson'. The guitar sounds great in it. For me, its the live performances that are largely fingerpicking that make me love the guild tone, especially 'scarbourough fair'.

I just check my tracking, and the guitar should arrive today!!!!!!!
