Self-serving addendum: I'm thinking of selling. Interested parties are welcome to get in touch...

BB, that is a good looking Starfire! I'm sure if you do decide to sell, someone here will grab it.

I sure love that single-pup 'McCarty' CA 100... what a classy rig!

The Bluesbird is for sale if anyone is interested...just don't use it much given my current jazz kick.

Aloha Joe - that's a nice-looking Emerald Star, and a nice photo. Are those cloud inlays custom? They look Epiphone. I had an Emerald SF III and it was really tough (for me anyway) to get the color to photograph. It always looked black. Mine was a '70 w/ original DeArmonds and with a very beat finish but I sold it. The neck was too slim and it made my hand hurt.

Anyway, here's some more eye candy - I finally found and bought an X550P last year:

I love that X550 Jeff, and thanks for the kind words! The inlays were done by the original owner, a friend and band-mate who passed 2 years ago. They were intended as a replacement set for a late 40s Epiphone Deluxe but ended up in this Starfire many years ago. The neck is quite slim, but perfect for me. :D

Littlesongs, how come both of those have Gibson P90's?
They have matching covers. One has the original Franz and the other a P90. Carla had a warped white cover replaced by the previous owner. Carol was the victim of a horrible humbucker kludge. Billy Budapest rescued it and his tech installed a custom P90.

OK. Is that a Sano amp?
Yes. It's a '66 25WR. Treem and I owe you guys a Sano thread with sound samples. 8)

Old picture, so I owe you all a new one of those too.

Truly enjoying the eye candy!

Dipping into the Guild 'ancestor' collection, here is a 1949 Epiphone Broadway. This is a great, all carved 17" guitar that sounds great acoustically and plugged in w the old DeArmond floater. These shared a lot of features with the early Guilds that followed and are great for anything from Freddie Green to Duke Robillard.

Her sister is this 1947 Epiphone Triumph. A bit less bling on this model, but the same fully carved 17" body, long scale and big sound. I LOVE this guitar!
