I've wanted to build a Supro with the 6973's, just because I've never heard one. The last amp I played through was my GA1-RT, for it's low volume crankability. Before that, it was a mid-sixties Thunderbird 1x12 combo.
I love those cabinets! Did you build those yourself too?I got into Valco-made amps in a big way, starting maybe 4 years ago or so. I've also morphed from repairing my amps into building amps from scratch and this has become a really enjoyable additional hobby for me. Most of the amps I've built myself (and others) recently are very Supro-like. My two favorites are modeled after the Supro Coronado (1690T) and the Supro 1688TN.
The 1690T clone
The 1688TN-based amp
I've got videos on my youtube channel too /leonc1234
I've been using the '90 JCM800 4010 combo a lot lately
very cool...Is that a Strymon blue sky reverb I see? Been wanting one of those. Been a spring 'verb guy all my life...but those really do sound fantastic!
Hello Jorj, yes the Strymon BlueSky is amazing. Their newer Flint pedal looks intriguing to me too. The Flint is a really smart pairing of a reverb and tremelo in one box.
