Damn. this one looks sweet!

Always wanted a parlor-style guitar. Wife thinks I'm nuts of course.
I think you're nuts, too. But that makes two of us....you and ME! :D

It looks great and if I had the wherewithal, I'd hit the BIN button and SMILE.
However, I won't be smiling on this one. And I'm nuts for even considering it.

You'll never walk alone around here....we're all nuts!

Whoa, that's nice! I'm certainly not going to stop you. Where are you going to find another one of these?

Looks very nice, and would make a fine addition & contrast to the rest of your herd.

Why not?

Oh my it's sure looks like a beauty and I'm sure it just sings. Mine is a '65 (sort of a LTG community effort) and it had spent about 40 yrs under a bed. It did need a neck reset and the black glued down on the headstock but everything else was perfect. The serial #s for M20s in 1965 are a bit of a mix, Hans confirmed the date for me, my serial # is 44314 but the Guild chart says there were some also AHs in 1965 under the M20s. It has USA beneath the Hoboken line and that label was introduced in 1965 (mine doesn't have it but Hans said they probably used up the old ones first). Now you certainly know better than to think anyone hereis going to stop you don't you?

The BIN is really a fair price, especially if it ends up not needing a neck reset. I noticed he said it will be shipped in a generic case...wonder if it fits and if it's hard shell.

Good luck folks...joan

Thanks for the info, Joan et al. I REALLY like it. I'm watching it and asked the selling party a couple of questions. We'll see how it goes.

Fat lot of good you guys are as a support group!

Greenville, MI is NorthEast of Grand Rapids and NorthWest of Lansing. It's listed for six more days but based on what M20s have been selling for on eBay I'll be surprised if it lasts that long. Too bad we can't send a scout out to play it and report back!

Yeah, we're all helping you aren't we? When I joined the forum I'd had my f-312 and D-55 since they were new and was quite content...for a while..

Well, I will make sure you know it is a very narrow neck, 1 5/8 and a very small guitar that may not be comfortable for you to play (is this helping?) Actually I got used to the width of the neck but still haven't found a way to play it sitting down for more than 15 minutes without having pain in my wrist, forearm, and shoulder (progresses as I play).

Keep us posted. joan

Thanks for all the info Joan. The size of it might end up being a problem for me as I'm a big guy, and always wanted a really BIG guitar (hence the recent F-50R purchase). Might not have the same affliction, who knows? The seller's return policy makes me more comfortable. Ideally, I'd like to see some better pictures first. The ones that are included aren't much.

Hey, I didn't know it was in Greenville! That's not far from me. If you'd really like me to check it out, it could be arranged...

Thanks, Dread. I'd like to see if the seller gets back to me with any better pictures. I really don't want to buy this guitar if it will need a neck reset. Already got one of them. :(

Is this truly a 3/4 guitar? 3/4 is the size of a Baby Taylor and other travel guitars. Were these that little?

I heard back from the seller. He says "it's basically like new...played very little...sorry these are ones I took down in my studio,,,it is as I've described....a wonderful collector's item......
thanks" I emailed him back asking if he could send me some higher resolution pictures of both the saddle and the action at the 12th fret. We'll see what he says.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Asking for advice around here is like a crackhead asking a dealer if they should take another hit!

OK, well if you're really serious tell him you have a friend from Grand Rapids who'd like to take a look at it, Greenville's only about 25 miles from my house.

I promise I won't buy it for myself

Guild described it as a 3/4 size guitar however it is bigger than a Little Martin. Below are pictures of my M20 next to my 0021-NY, and my GAD30R which should give you a little perspective. (I"ll add I have no comfort problems with the other guitars, I'm not sure what the problem is.) Joan
