I doubt it my friend....until a blind person can guess what colors look like....you'll have to imagine what its like.....I'm almost always surprised at the sound spectrum every time I play mine.... :D Steffan

Gorgeous! Actually, looks kinda like my NH 512. I'd love to take one of those big 6-strings for a spin. Haven't played a Guild 6-string since I got my 12 and I find that I'm curious what the same specs would sound like with half as many strings. I still love the 12, of course.

Sounds like a similar thought to one that I had earlier this year.

What a beautiful guitar! Congratulations. I really love the rosewood on that guitar.

I am surprised to see how little bubble wrap they put in that box! Or did you take some out before you took the picture?

Ridge,
Notice, the bubble wrap is glued to the broad sides of the box, and across the bottom, and as Sandy said the insert in the top of the box stabilizes the neck. Seems to be adequate.

I've gotta say I was surprised when I opened the box, for that matter that it was in a Guild box at all. It was sold to me as used. Been hanging in my store for about a month he said. Must not have been played, not so much as a smudge on it. It is of course sans factory warranty, but the warranty card is in the case along with all the new guitar freebies. I plan to send in the warranty card, it may not do me any good, I don't know what sort'a deal was made with the factory. They may deny any warranty, but in the words of my Daddy, "the worst they can tell you is no".

Thanks to all of you for the kind words, and if you can swing it, you gotta get one of these things. I just hate it that I can't, or won't bring it with me on the road. Too risky. It certainly makes the Epiphones, the Ibanez, the Charvell 12, the 63 Kay archtop, the Seagull, and even the Mr. Potato also rans.

BTW Steffan, the trc isn't on upside down, it's inside out.

Richard,

An F-50R is surely a work of art... but in this crowd it's likely you'll hear more than a few of us echo the "Made to be Played" sentiment (even if Fender did cook that up :) ). Take it on the road. It ain't no wallflower. The New Hartford guys know how to build a guitar. Ovation necks, for example, are probably the best in the business ... guess what? Your neck was cut on the same beastie and set by the same craftsmen that make those! It'll last a lifetime; go make your memories.

If Dave Van Ronk could do it, so can you. :D :D

Bear in mind, I'm a truck driver, not a musician. Although I'd love to have this girl available to play any time, fear of knocks and worse, including theft, make me satisfied to enjoy her at home.
If this second hand Oscar Schmidt with the previously broken neck gets beat up my feelings won't be hurt. If it's stolen I'm out fifty bucks.

Richard :D

I suppose by the strictest definition, if you make music, you are a musician.

However, I can make a living driving a truck.

Well, after 37 years the truck drives me!

Fair enough, Richard.

For the record, my '67 F-50R was kept onboard cargo vessels for many years by capquest (original owner), who traveled around the world with it. The '67 is probably better suited to that task than more recent F-50Rs because it is a laminated body (less prone to damage from humidity). But honestly it held up pretty well. I can imagine it brought a lot of pleasure to the man while at sea and at port... except for Okinawa when they confiscated it... but that's another story.

Hey, if nothing else, having the F-50R at home gives you a reason to be home. ;)

Best wishes.

Thank you sir,
Although I like that guitar pretty good, and it is an added incentive, the blonde haired woman and two Yorkies are all the reason I need to be home.
